Miller concerned Murkowski will 'pull an Al Franken'

Joe Miller, the Republican candidate who is poised to knock off Sen. Lisa Murkowski (Alaska) in a primary contest, said Thursday he is concerned she will launch a protracted legal battle to save her seat.

Miller, an Iraq war veteran who received the backing of former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), emerged from the election Tuesday night with a narrow lead over Murkowski, an incumbent who assumed the seat from her father.

But officials are still counting absentee ballots in the close race and a lawyer for the GOP Senate campaign committee is heading to Alaska to assist the senator.

"We are looking right now to make sure that the election - that the votes - are accounted for fairly, without any type of game play," Miller said in an interview on Fox Business Network. "It concerns us any time somebody lawyers up and tries to pull an Al Franken, if you will. We are very concerned that there may be some attempt here to skew the results."

HE should shine the light on the incumbent reelection machine the repubics are mobilizing and he should shout it from every network that will cover it. Silence is not the answer this time and btw... decorum has no place in modern politics... which has grown into political warfare. In today's world, nice guys will ALWAYS finish last.

Yeah, maybe you're right, what's the old saying? If you're getting raped might as well lay back and enjoy it.

Look, if you don't want to fight for the country then just go sit in a corner and let the big boys fight it out.

There is little to no difference between the Republican Party and the Democrat Party.

I am hopeful Miller will win, and that Franken will get in his face in DC. Franken has done so many times in the past, and he is long past due to get punched in the nose.

Invocating the name of Al Franken will result in unnecessary turmoil in his quest to join a body which is still not recovered from the seating of Senator Franken.

There is no need to cause problems for himself. The DEMs may still control the U.S. Senate even if he wins the general Election in November.

What?

You sound like one of those Washington squishes. Hate to say it.

OK, that’s RINO John Cornyn’s group. And you’re right - they just show Lisa Murkowski, as if she’s got it “in the bag” already! Unbelievable.

De Mint didn’t specifically endorse Miller, but his group gave Murkowski a low rating.

I’ve given absolutely NOTHING to the GOP this year, specifically because of stuff like this. Idiots.

She has no time to pull such a move and the reaction from the public will be against her and she’d lose the seat in Nov.

The GOP needs to tell her, its over and if she doesnt accept the vote, then they pull the rug out from under her.

I respectively disagree. Conservatives tend to bring butter knives to gunfights and that’s why we continually lose. Miller can’t make the Senate’s reputation any worse than it is, it’s already in the toilet.

I think by by mentioning the Frankstein vote (pulling ballots from everywhere, car trunks, extra polling places, and thin air to patch them together for a final count) he’s putting it out there where it will garner more national attention. Granted, that didn’t stop Franken but we can hope.

I love that he used that term!

He’s an attorney and former judge and a warrior. Would that the GOP had more of him!

YOU need to get educated. In MN the Sec of State was a Soros toady. In AK the Lt Gov run elections and is right now a Gov Appointee. HUGE DIFFERENCE!

I sooo agree !

We have to keep reminding people about the Dem street tactics and also start to get tough to protect our votes...The GOP has NEVER made an issue out of stolen elections!

Eh, even if the Left controls the senate, we want confrontation, not cooperation. I want a Jesse Helms type of guy whose focus is doing the right thing and not maintaining friendly relations with bad human beings like Al Franken or Patrick Leahy.

Is Murkowski, whom Sarah opposes, worse than McPain, whom Sarah endorses? I really don’t know.

I believe that Murkowski is an abortion booster and McPain is nominally “pro-life”.
