... Offensive jihad in the name of Islam against the U.S. military perpetrated by a Muslim member of the military who preached jihad is now being referred to by the Department of Defense as workplace violence..... Defense.gov News Article: Pentagon Releases Final Fort Hood Shooting Review.
WASHINGTON, Aug. 20, 2010 Pentagon officials today released the Defense Departments final review of recommendations issued by an independent panel in the wake of the Nov. 5, 2009, shooting spree on Fort Hood, Texas. Among the departments top priorities, as outlined in the review, are boosting on-base emergency response capabilities, improving law enforcement and force protection information sharing with partner agencies, and integrating force protection policy, a Defense Department news release said.
In a memorandum signed Aug. 18, Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates said he carefully considered the panels recommendations detailed in the report titled, Protecting the Force: Lessons Learned from Fort Hood and is directing the department to take appropriate action to address the initiatives detailed in the follow-on review....
Army Maj. Nidal Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, allegedly opened fire at a Fort Hood facility where soldiers were processing for overseas deployments. He has been charged with 13 counts of murder and 32 counts of attempted murder...
The review puts forth concrete actions for the majority of the recommendations, Gates said...In particular, he said, the department will strengthen its policies, programs and procedures in the following areas:
Educating commanders about the symptoms of potential workplace violence and the tools available to them to address it;
After a cursory review, responding to future acts of jihad (although DoD wont call it that) seems to be a significant focus of the recommendations. One would think preventing infiltration of the U.S. military by jihadists and stealth jihadists would be the focus rather than responding to future attacks.
Additionally, much of the recommendation revolve around health care, and access to health records of military members. Jihad does not appear to even be mentioned, although the version weve seen is unsearchable so that has not been confirmed yet.
The DoD clearly wants more. Wants more of this for America.
Political correctness is going to kill this country. This jihadist, in a common sense world, would have been taken out and shot by the DoD as an enemy of freedom and America. The lefty government will never get it, because they don’t want to. They just don’t care who gets killed by terrorists, unless it’s one of the terrorists. Then they seem to care. Traitors.
Seems to me that the guy was a jihadi. The Defense Department needs to reply to their need to use meaningless terms.
I will stand with the rest of America if the political winds turn in an ugly direction.
If this is the final word...then it won’t be accepted by anyone in the US military.
I will offer one observation though. At his previous assignment...over the last three years there, there were clear indicators that would have drawn attention and been used to discharge him...had he not been in the medical field. Had he exhibited any of these signals at a infantry post or some intelligence unit...it would taken three months to write up the paperwork and follow through on the discharge. The fact that he never passed his PT test and rarely attended PT...says alot about this officer.
Do they think were all just going to go, All right then, no jihad, nothing to worry about?
I hope not. Either way they'll just follow their orders without caring what anyone thinks "'cause they're following their orders". (oath? what oath?)
Why cant the Pentagon call it what it is?
If they're ordered not to then that's what they do. They're automatons these days.
How can the Pentagon defend us if the Pentagon cant even identify the enemy?
I have no doubt they can identify the enemy. It's the vocalization of the identification and removal thereof that seems to be the problem.
What’s a PT test?
It was MURDER, plain and simple.
They can’t wrap it up and call it Christmas.
Army Maj. Nidal Hasan will probably be invited as a guest of honor at the groundbreaking at the Cordoba House Mosque on September 11th. But, he has no ties to radical Islam. He just has an anger management problem. Just before he gets violent, he blurts out “Allahu Akbar”, but he has no ties to radical Islam. He just a little troubled. He’ll be OK.
NEVER!
Our government will not protect us against the Satanic Jihadis.
People of faith who see this for what it is will have to defend themselves.
You're very gracious, ILS.
How about within the next 10? Possibly 5 years?
The Soviet Union dissolved seemingly overnite.
None of them were at Ft Hood—or so I both heard and read....seemed unreal to me!
Because he is a faithful follower of the "holy" Quran.
