Dismantling the Courts
VIDEO 7:16 min.
Today on Uncommon Knowledge, Thomas Sowell, author of Dismantling America, on the continuing outrage of judges who read their own ideological values into the Constitution. Case in point? Yes indeed. Judge Vaughn Walkers decision to declare Proposition 8 unconstitutionaleven though it ratifies the concept of marriage as universally understood at the time the Constitution was drafted and ratified, and even though it received the votes of seven million Californians.
The most important decision is always who makes the decision. The question of the role of gender is not for this judge to decide since were presumably still, for the moment at least, a self-governing nation it is for the voting public to decide. So the fact that Judge Walker feels the way he feelswonderful! Let him vote that way in the privacy of the voting booth. But dont let him say that this is now the law of the land.

The question of the role of gender
We'll never win the debate using our opponent's terminology.

I don’t care if Walker had a “long fact-finding session”, those people were paid hacks who make up crap as they go along to fit “facts” to their foregone conclusions. I refuse to believe these people were either competent or unbiased.

Agreed, and it’s clear Walker was not interested in facts, he made up many of his own.

No government should deny the right of anyone to marry ... someone of the opposite sex.
