WASHINGTON (AFP) Israel has "eight days" to launch a military strike against Iran's Bushehr nuclear facility and stop Tehran from acquiring a functioning atomic plant, a former US envoy to the UN has said.
Iran is to bring online its first nuclear power reactor, built with Russia's help, on August 21, when a shipment of nuclear fuel will be loaded into the plant's core.
At that point, John Bolton warned Monday, it will be too late for Israel to launch a military strike against the facility because any attack would spread radiation and affect Iranian civilians.

I JUST finished reading Alas, Babylon!
Great book set in/around Orlando (where I live...scary though
Israel has ICBMs. It has been modified the Jericho I, II, and III as launch vehicles for satellites. They could launch a handful with tungsten or depleted uranium warheads.
I am afraid he is right, but it is not as if Israel can expect support from the US.
Why should they do that? More likely they will paint their A/C with USN markings ad do slow rolls over the capital after the hit.
I would compliment them.

I'd hit it.
Never going to happen. If there were a never AFTER never, it would never happen then either.
Israel can’t even board a ship under a lawful embargo, without the world screeching like a mouse ran up its skirt. Israel bends over backward to avoid collateral damage and injury to innocents. How can it destroy a Russian-Iranian atomic project without making some sort of a mess? And even if it could, the Russians and Iranians would gleefully lie to the contrary.
Besides, the facilities in question are not the real problem. They fall under the rule that goes, “Guns don’t kill, people kill.” The people Israel needs to take out are running the govt in Iran. They are the problem, they are the enemy. Help the Iranian people to shake them from their perches, and nobody will have to worry about radiation.
So has Rush started playing “The Dazz Band’s” “You dropped a Bomb on Me” yet?
Well, might as well have some fun! (Since our "leaders" will not do it, might as well let Freepers have some fun!)
Step 1: Go to the High yield detonation effects simulator website at:Nuclear weapons effect simulator
Step 2: Next, Tab down to the Latitude, Longitude field and enter 28.82628,50.88727
Step 3: Enter your nuclear weapon yield.
Note:
1 = approx (@) 1 kiloton (kt) explosion, i.e. small, tactical nuclear weapon (>SADM, >davie crockett);
9= @10KT a medium tactical nuclear weapon (dial a yield 155mm/8" artillery shell, W80 warhead, non-boosted B61) Note: half the size of Nagasaki bomb, 3/4 size of Hiroshima bomb;
99= 100KT a small strategic nuclear weapon such as the W76 warhead (or boosted tactical nuke);
500= @500 kt or one-half of a Megaton (MT). Note: Most strategic nuclear weapons are between @300kt (W87) and @500kt (w88) today;
999= 1000kt or one Megaton (1MT). Most mid cold war weapons were in the Megaton range;
9999= 10 MT- Very large nuclear weapon (Titan II missile carried 9 MT W53 warhead);
15000= 15 MT- Castle Bravo test. Largest US nuclear test explostion. Note: Some estimates say 22MT!;
25000= 25 MT (B41 nuclear bomb) the highest yield US nuclear weapon in service. Now retired;
50000= 50 MT - Tsar Bomba Soviet test. 50 MT. Largest ever nuclear explosion;
99999= 100MT Theoretical yield limit of boosted Tsar Bomba.
Step 4: Enjoy "nuking" other locations. ("Drop" a 100 MT nuke (99999kt) your house by typing in your home address)!
Enjoy!
Which is not an argument for restraint on Israel's part. What are muslims going to do do, hate Israel more?
Israel can smash Bushehr NP and will certainly make the attempt. IMO they will wait until October 7th to do it.
That would prove that he’s chosen a side! But you’re right, he won’t.
“More likely they will paint their A/C with USN markings ad do slow rolls over the capital after the hit.”
Just curious, do the Israelis fly US Navy aircraft? I thought that they flew USAF type planes??????
I most certainly was NOT arguing for restraint. Just predicting it. IMO they should have attacked years ago.
