Friday August 13, 2010First Rush, then Coulter, and Now Glenn Beck ... Whats Happening?
Commentary by John-Henry Westen OReilly asked Beck, Do you believe that gay marriage is a threat to the country in any way? Beck replied, No, I don't, adding sarcastically, Will the gays come and get us? The Glenn Beck revelation comes on the heels of two other startling announcements by conservative celebrity pundits in the last couple of weeks. Earlier this week it was announced that conservative pundit Ann Coulter would headline a fundraiser for the homosexual activist group within the Republican Party, GOProud. And on July 29, although his position had been revealed before, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh again came out in favor of homosexual civil unions, while being opposed to same-sex marriage. To be fair, it must be pointed out that Beck said he was looking at the big picture and promoting faith, the answer to all such things. Moreover, he added that he was okay with gay marriage with a caveat. As long as we are not going down the road of Canada, where it now is a problem for churches to have free speech. If they can still say, hey, we oppose it, he said. But even to have suggested, as strongly as he did, that he was not opposed to gay marriage is detrimental and demonstrates a small picture approach. Beck seems like a good guy. Hes thoughtful. Hes right on many matters in the culture war. For instance, when OReilly followed up and asked if Beck thought abortion threatened the United States, Beck replied dramatically in the affirmative. Abortion is killing, its killing, youre killing someone, he said. So I thought itd be worth it to calmly and persuasively share concerns with Beck on his approach. He may not read my email, but Im sure if enough pro-family folks were to get the message to him, hed reconsider his outlook.

What good is any of that if we are living under a judicial dictatorship where the will of the people can be overturned? What good is that if the government can use the homosexual issue to strip away parental rights, freedom of speech and freedom of religion?
The Founders cared far more about assuring the Constitution guaranteed rights endowed by the Creator couldn't be taken away by government and that people had the right to self-government. The foundation our freedoms are based on is being eroded and that is far more important than high taxes and deficits.
Ever since that judge did backflips to strike down Prop 8 the homomarriage trolls have been thick as flies.
That they have supporters here is sickening.
Free speech is a right granted to us to speak out against the government. That right does not extend to privately held entities. So ZOT 'em if you have 'em. !! And be sure to ping me!! :)
Here’s a new thread, think I’ll ping the list there too:
Glenn Beck Is Wrong on the Importance of Homosexual Marriage

Maybe some targets will show up. The more they’re “engaged”, the more they reveal their actual POV. Arduous work, but a well-earned ZOT is a nice reward. The sneaky ones just leave the thread once their positions have been proven, but before they’ve crossed the line into being zotted. Well, if I had the power of zot, it would be different, but this isn’t my website!
Our forefathers had no problem whatsoever with outlawing sodomy. They were perfectly fine with that.
Thanks for the ping LJ.
When I read “Well, if I had the power of zot, it would be different, but..” I started hearing that song from Bruce Almighty..”I Got the Power” lol lol lol!
Will join thread as a lurker :) (I may not stay that way though.)
What is going on here -them homosexual agenda folks be crawling out of the woodwork?
How noble a cause these homosexualists fight for -freedom of orifice! The oppressive heterosexualists have been victimizing the homosexualists for millennia -cursing them with disease and lack of children -not willing to fund their sex change operations -not rewarding them for the highly acclaimed orifice diversity they promote...
/end sarcasm...
Nobody’s talking about big government Christianity. They are talking about the bottom-up restoration of morality.
“Well, just to make it clear for the simple minded, what would that point be, again? Good communication means making things very clear. Go right ahead, if Im mistaken Ill be the first to admit it!”
The best part about communicating with simple-minded people is that by not simplifying things so they understand, it’s kinda like keeping them in suspense. It’s less tedious for me, and it’s kinda entertaining for them. Win-win. Why mess up a good thing?
LOL!
Taoist teachings (based on traditional Chinese medicine) as well as Ayurveda (sister science of traditional yoga which includes Yamas and Niyamas - codes of behavior) state that same sex acts of every type create mental and physical illness in the extreme. Up to psychosis. Oh, and are sinful too!
Or...as C.S. Lewis would say it:
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under live robber barons than under omnipotent moral busibodies.
The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good, will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."
Go wank somewhere else, wanker.
“Nobodys talking about big government Christianity. They are talking about the bottom-up restoration of morality.”
If you are serious about the restoration of morality, you’d not try to make an unwieldy beast such as our government “moral”. It isn’t possible with it’s size and intrusiveness.
You had some good quotes from founding fathers in a previous post. Remember, they could build on moral foundations because they had set tyranny alight, and chased it from our shores.
We have some of those moral foundations still in place - but we’ve got to torch the house of ill-repute that has been built upon it over the past 200 years.
Then we can talk about the restoration of morality and freedoms.
Uh - Sandy has left the building... zotted by the Boss.
The homosexual agenda pushers are the ones tyrannizing over the rest of us. If you think C.S. Lewis would have supported the homosexual agenda, you don’t know C.S. Lewis.
Eh.. I’m one of the cross membership sidegroup that paves over the trolls (Road Killed Beeber Association.)
Though these days we descend upon some poor moron troll’s thread and repurpose it to our designs.
Ironic in a way, actually.
I’m also with the VK’s, but mostly I wander and then “lamplight” the path to the waiting troll.
Ask 50 or Darkwing to add you to their respective lists, usually we’re in post-zot.
For the remaining troll pavers, type in “molassesmiasma” as a keyword.
You’ll find where we’re hiding.
“Go wank somewhere else, wanker.”
You are not only simple, but you have thin skin, and you give up too easily.
I enjoy robust discussion as much as anyone else.
But when people are snide, snarky, holier than thou and act like Mensa inmates and everyone else is a dunce, my tolerance goes away.
I try to communicate as clearly as possible my positions and if someone doesn’t understand, I try again.
I don’t like people toying with others; it’s a type of not so subtle “I’m smarter than others and ha ha on them” kind of game. I hate that crap in high school and I don’t like it now.
Exactly.
There are plenty of professing Christians (of all spiritually immature stripes) who would like nothing better than to be able to use the arm of government to impose their personal religious conscience on others.... "for their own good", of course. (See my previous post quoting C.S. Lewis, who understood that mentality perfectly.)
They are merely the flip-side of the extremist left coin. bttt
