NEW YORK, August 12, 2010 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Appearing on The O’Reilly Factor yesterday, famed conservative Fox News host Glenn Beck may have shocked many Americans by noting that he was not very concerned about homosexual 'marriage.'

O’Reilly asked Beck, “Do you believe that gay marriage is a threat to the country in any way?” Beck replied, “No, I don't,” adding sarcastically, “Will the gays come and get us?” 

After being pressed again on the question, Beck said, “I believe -- I believe what Thomas Jefferson said. If it neither breaks my leg nor picks my pocket, what difference is it to me?”  Showing his own surprise, O’Reilly remarked, “Okay, so you don't. That's interesting. Because I don't think a lot of people understand that about you.”

The Glenn Beck revelation comes on the heels of two other startling announcements by conservative celebrity pundits in the last couple of weeks.  Earlier this week it was announced that conservative pundit Ann Coulter would headline a fundraiser for the homosexual activist group within the Republican Party, GOProud.  And on July 29, although his position had been revealed before, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh again came out in favor of homosexual civil unions, while being opposed to same-sex ‘marriage.’

To be fair, it must be pointed out that Beck said he was looking at the ‘big picture’ and promoting faith, the answer to all such things.  Moreover, he added that he was okay with gay ‘marriage’ with a caveat.  “As long as we are not going down the road of Canada, where it now is a problem for churches to have free speech. If they can still say, hey, we oppose it,” he said.

But even to have suggested, as strongly as he did, that he was not opposed to gay ‘marriage’ is detrimental and demonstrates a ‘small picture’ approach.

Beck seems like a good guy. He’s thoughtful.  He’s right on many matters in the culture war.  For instance, when O’Reilly followed up and asked if Beck thought abortion threatened the United States, Beck replied dramatically in the affirmative.  “Abortion is killing, it’s killing, you’re killing someone,” he said.

So I thought it’d be worth it to calmly and persuasively share concerns with Beck on his approach.  He may not read my email, but I’m sure if enough pro-family folks were to get the message to him, he’d reconsider his outlook.

Laws teach people what is right and wrong and thus homosexual acts will implicitly be given the stamp of approval where such legal recognition is granted.  The young will be given the false impression that this behavior is safe and acceptable, or even good.

Society has a duty to legally recognize and support married couples since they are, through procreation, the source for the continuation of human life and thus society itself.  Homosexual couples cannot properly procreate and thus have no such claim to societal recognition.

The question is not so much about marriage, but about homosexual acts.  The acts are harmful to the individuals who engage in them. They are harmful physically, emotionally and spiritually. 

With regard to persons engaged in such behavior or identifying with it, there must never be unjust discrimination.  All gay bashing, name-calling and the like should be condemned.  However, there must be discrimination on this front, a just discrimination, to preserve societal recognition for marriage between one man and one woman.

Too BAD! I am not going to debate anyone esp.. when they twist my comments to fit their own hate mode (darksheare).

Perhaps you are unaware of this, but it is proper etiquette to ping the person you mention in a post. Especially when you charge them with "hate" as their motive.

BTW, I've never noticed "hate" in what Darksheare has posted here or elsewhere on FR. He stands up for what he believes is right, and the chips can fall as they may.

You also say you are too busy for dealing with other "fights," but whether your recognize it or not, you seem to be doing a good job of causing "fights" right here and now on this thread.
You really ought to either grow up or get lost.

Believe it or not, I didn’t see that photo but will take your word for it. I’ve seen other pictures at different ‘parades’ though that have little innocent babes there. God help those parents when they stand before Him to give an accounting of why they allowed their innocent babies to become ‘infected’.

You’re right LJ, repentance is the only answer but even then, there’s no guarantee that God will ‘move’ or be ‘moved’ to ‘heal’ our land because we’ve been on this path since the 60’s (longer than that but the agenda really started gripping us in the 60’s after prayer was banned from our Public schools) and there has been more than enough time given to us to rectify this. And we haven’t.

What do I say when I stand before Him? My own behavior through the years has been less than stellar. ‘Ummmm I voted the right way? I protested? I took my son out of Public education Lord so that he wouldn’t be corrupted.’ Not enough because I then danced freely in the ‘World’ thinking all would be fine. I don’t think God thinks that was good enough.

I read a piece on here sometime back regarding the responsibility that each of us have for this nightmare we are living. Sadly, I can’t say my own actions didn’t contribute because I’ve indulged in the World as well; I’ve gone along just by the fact that I wasn’t pounding on doors or calling legislators as often as necessary. Always thinking ‘this too shall pass’.

Believe me though, I will fight. I’m a fighter by nature and cantankerous ... which is not a good combination. But this never ending assault on us is having a toll. I’ve started to drink again because truly, there is nothing else that dulls my senses and I’m afraid that if I ever started screaming, I won’t stop.

I suppose none of the three have read about what happened at Sodom and Gomorrah. Yes the gays in fact did come after some persons. Angels of GOD to be exact. They were trying to tear down the door. In that time it was considered so wrong that Lott offered his daughters instead and they turned them down wanting the men. Was Lott wrong in offering his daughters? I wouldn't have. But what fate was Lott's and what fate hit those two cities? It is indeed a deadly serious issue which affects all.

Using your logic you would have to say that 33% of all prison rapes are done by homosexuals even though 2% of the population are homosexual. The problem with that is then 66% of all prison rapes are done by heterosexuals. Enviroment and mental health, and access all are driving forces behind the huge difference in homosexual child molestation and heterosex child molestation.

Using your logic male on male sex is not homosexual unless what -one or both participants are "certified"?

I agree we volunteered to come to this mortal world via our rebellion (each, individually) against God. And the purpose of life is to rectify that rebellion and remember that He is our Lord.

Voluntarily surrendering to Him in loving obedience is the best use of our free will; everything else leads to suffering of the worst kind.

So, you'd certain be in favor of further perverting what marriage and extending tax and other benefits to the wives of polygamists, first cousins, siblings and fathers and their daughters than want to marry, too, right?

One of the rules or steps put together by homosexual activists in the mid or early 80s or whenever they laid their plans was to keep what they actually DO out of the public, knowing that normal people would be revolted, horrified and angry. The public should be gradually “educated”, especially the young, to de-sensitize us to the huge “revolt” factor. “Gays” were to be cast as clean cut victims of bigotry, with no mention of sex except maybe a chaste kiss or hand holding shown.

What they actually DO was to be kept hidden, when that is the only thing that makes them any different, and the only thing that makes them “gay”.

I think you are right. Did you happen to catch the threads on the new 'Mecca' clock? Another prophecy fullfilled (imo). The anti-christ is backstage and waiting. After studying and listening to prophecy teachers for alot of years, the one thing I believe they are in error on is that the anti christ will come from Rome/and be a Catholic. jimho, I believe that the ac will come from the islamic faith.
