Insurgent Colorado Senate candidate Ken Buck is apologizing for a degrading remark he made about the Tea Party movement last month that was caught on tape by a Democratic tracker.
The Denver Post and 9News is expected to report Sunday night that Buck referred to the members of the Tea Party as "dumbasses" after a campaign event in Crowley, Colo. last month.
"Will you tell those dumbasses at the Tea Party to stop asking about birth certificates? Woah, I'm on camera. God, what am I supposed to do?," Buck says on the tape, according to his campaign.
Buck campaign spokesman Owen Loftus told POLITICO that the candidate spent Sunday explaining and apologizing for the remark in interviews with the state's two dominant news outlets.
"Ken points out he does gets frustrated at times with those individuals pushing those issues. He shouldn't have cussed. He regrets the remark. He was venting his frustration to a Democratic tracker and he shouldn't of," said Loftus.
Loftus said that Buck, whose candidacy has been fueled in part by Tea Party members uninspired by one-time GOP frontrunner Jane Norton, was aware he was speaking to a Democratic tracker and simply made a mistake. The birther issue has been a tricky one for Buck to navigate: While he signaled he would support legislation to ensure a presidential candidate has U.S. citizenship at a meet-and-greet in June, he has also stressed it is not a priority for his campaign.

I’m pretty sure that these are the guys and gals they assign to frontrunner campaigns to record everything and try to trip up the GOP opposition...which leads to the question, why in the world was Buck talking to this ‘tracker’ RAT?
Too bad Demint’s been pushing Buck hard.
Let me just add that Dino Rossi greeted a Patty Murray ‘tracker’ at the Shoreline caucus where my wife and I saw him speak last Wed. He greeted him, as if he knew him - in that case it was really quite funny as we bored holes into the dufus RAT tracker...;)

Look, I’m of a mind that we’re not going to win on this issue, but the propagandist RAT press has belittled this issue and made people that defend the USC out to be morons.
I will not stand for those that stand up for the USC being belittled and labeled as morons and dumbasses.
You can argue all you want about the effectiveness of pushing on Hussein’s BC as a losing strategy - but the qualifications for POTUS are part and parcel to the respect for the USC and to act like that or those that are ultimately concerned for that are idiotic is just wrong.
That said, I’d kind of like to see an approach now where we push for proof of natural born citizenship for POTUS for the future - and leave the sinking of Hussein to his increasingly fewer worshipers.

There’s nothing wrong with pushing for the USC to be respected and upheld, by say proof of NBC for the future. I do agree that we just let Obama’s ship sink - it’s listing already.
It’s unfortunate that Buck, who’s getting much Tea Party support, didn’t see fit to nuance this with the RAT tracker - on or off the record. That concerns me.
By doing it this dumba$$ way, Buck has probably earned another few media rounds of talking about Hussein’s BC. Couldn’t he just have held his nose and tongue instead?

This is a great point. If anyone’s punted the football on the BC/NBC issue with Hussein, it’s the SCOTUS. They should have ruled on what a natural born citizen is, extending the partial SCOTUS rulings and comments from the 19th and 20th C. - and that would have helped this issue to be dealt with.
Of course more to blame is Hussein for hiding his entire life - the Manchurian President.

I don’t think this will happen while bambi is in office. But we can’t stop fighting for the USC and the rule of law, and in general, we must see Article II, Section 1 addressed by the SCOTUS and perhaps by the various States re: their own POTUS ballots.
Ultimately, addressing this issue is getting into the grill of the RATs that think they can just change the USC into anything they want - the whole ‘living document’ rubbish.
Therefore, the implications of fighting this, or not fighting this (Buck), are well beyond the BC/NBC issue specifically.
We need leaders who will stand up for the United States Constitution and the rule of law!

IMHO, we should be pushing for POTUS NBC requirements at the state level, with no reference to their god obummer at all. That’s playing it right - imho.
Now you may also have a point about timing, and mindshare. We are, after all, in a fight with Alinskyites who’ve been trying to overwhelm the system on about 5 fronts. We’ve got lots of fighting to do, and can’t spread too thin. But this fight should be taken up in earnest leading into 2012, and in tandem with bammy’s sinkin’ ship of state, would put quite a crimp in the RATS 2012 plans (whatever those may be currently.)

That’s MY point. Why allow or recognize those that think you are an Alex Jones kook? Frankly in my opinion anybody that doesn’t stay on the birth certificate issue is a dumb ass because that is the main issue of getting him removed, or keeping him off the ballot in 2012. If we don’t keep the pressure on him, what other democrat will even oppose him in a primary, AND if he gets on the ballot, what’s going to stop another rigged election like 2008. And it is the BEST evidence when opposing his AGENDA!
If you’re going to allow yourself to be deemed a kook and stop putting the pressure on him, then you just as well acknowledge being a right-wing extremist, a terrorist, in fact, a racist, a member of the party of NO, a right-wing Nazi, or any other misnomer they want to give you. I don’t give a flying pluck what they call me. Eligibility and proving up qualification for sitting in the highest position in the nation is FIRST PRIORITY as far as I’m concerned. And I’m not going to give up my right to ask for that proof as a citizen of the United States. Just like I wouldn’t hire anybody who could not prove up their qualification for the job.
Huh?....The EXACT “right” time to have a fit is the very instant that the Constitution is being TRASHED!
And...If a person can't see that, doesn't understand this, and thinks, that truth can be massaged, and “timed”...well!...It says a lot about character!
How a person has and is reacting to the Obama eligibility issue tells me all I need to know about that person. It is a deal breaker. It is polar star issue. It tells me where that person is going in this life.
We have Marxists, who merely see the Constitution as a tool in their propaganda arsenal to use against us, living and working in our White House. They are everywhere working throughout our cultural institutions. Our nation got this way because too many people thought that confronting EVIL needed to be “timed”.
Personally, I am disgusted with and having nothing but contempt for these weenies.
So do I and that is a shame. What the hell is wrong with the ‘pubs in this state?
