A gay priest sex scandal has rocked the Catholic Church in Italy today after a weekly news magazine released details of a shock investigation it had carried out.
Using hidden cameras, a journalist from Panorama magazine - owned by Italian Prime Minister and media baron Silvio Berlusconi - filmed three priests as they attended gay nightspots and had casual sex.
Today there was no immediate comment from the Italian Bishops Conference and the Vatican - which has been rocked by a series of sex scandals involving paedophile priests since the start of the year.

The incidence of pederasty in the American education system is stupendous.
According to the AAUW 2000/Shakeshaft Secondary Analysis 2003, about 6.7% of American students have reported contact-based “Educator Sexual Misconduct”
That figure is from section 3.2 of the Education Department study, “Educator Sexual Misconduct.”, and is one of the lower reported percentages. That’s about 1 in 14.
So ... should teachers in America be allowed to marry? Would that solve the problem?
UGH.
SIGH
YUCK.
All Catholics are called to chastity. Vow or not.
I would support married clergy, although I am a Protestant, so I sort of doubt anyone cares!
But, I don’t know that it would solve the problem of homos/child abusers in the clergy.
I think they see the RC church - and other positions of trust, such as school teacher and other clergy - as an effective cover to get access to kids.
I think the Boy Scouts do a good job in protecting kids, although no system is perfect.
They don’t allow homosexual leaders. They have a policy of always having 2 unrelated adults with any minor kids. They do the FBI screening for all leaders. And every year - and I think this is key - all scouts must go through a packet of info and a presentation about what is acceptable and what is not, and are thoroughly encouraged to tell and keep telling if they are being molested.
I do think this educating of potential victims has largely scared the pervs off.
How long will it be before Rome realizes if it REALLY wants to get rid of this cancer it needs to lift its celibacy requirement so it doesn't attract homosexuals? Unless that's what it wants to attract.
Because as we've seen, Rome and its priests love to finagle the language, and therefore they differentiate between celibacy and chastity.
Apparently "no women" does not mean "no sex."
Not only is that deflection specious, but the vast majority of sexual contact between teachers and students is heterosexual.
The problem in Rome’s priestcraft is homosexual. Because Rome attracts homosexuals.
Keep pointing to everyone else as the problem, and don’t look to the real cause. This evil will only continue to grow in your church and further destroy children, families, lives and faith.
depending on Rome's actions..
This just proves how nihilistic and disordered homosexuality is, when even their vocation, freely chosen by that person, is not enough for them to refrain from immoral acts.
Their intent in joining with such inherent sickness in the soul, twists all morality, so that there can never be a moral code for them—certainly not the moral code of Christianity and Judaism. Blake said...The eye that alters, alters all. The distortion that comes from such a disordered person can never be corrected unless you get to the foundation of that person’s identity as a child of God, not a child of passion.
They would have to constantly fight that pervasive desire —that desire is Number ONE most important thing to them which needs to be God, so it is useless for them to become priests until they reorder their soul.
The church “problem” is the homosexual problem.
Also, married clergy bring something to the table that celibate clergy don't. Married clergy live the problems all couples have. There is no way a celibate man understands how hard it is to raise a child, or make a marriage work.
The leftist secularist press, and their odd fellow travelers on this forum, hate the Church. If they find a legitimate stick with which to beat the Church, they will do so. If they find a legitimate twig with which to beat the Church, they pretend it's a stick and whale away regardless. If they can't find anything legitimate at all, they just make stuff up.
It has nothing to do with liking or disliking queers ...
And oddly enough, I find their behaviour to be an unintended compliment. They hold the Church to a higher standard of behaviour than they do government, other secular institutions, or even their own religious communities.
Many of the LibCats (nice term!) are themselves queer, and the rest think buggery is just A-OK.

Most men who become priests are not homosexuals. Celibacy simply has nothing to do with it. Ending celibacy in itself will not necessarily stop anyone who is homosexual from living a double life - even in the priesthood.
That is so true.
Pastors are not another breed of human beings. They are men elected from the congregation to assume the responsibility of preaching the word of God.
No "alter Christus" who thinks he's entitled.
It's looking like they cut the soap from all those ropes...And there's probably no soap holders in the showers...
I agree, but I think the RCC has an underlying problem with sex in general. IIRC, RC's are only supposed to have sex to procreate (if I'm wrong I'm sure some eagle eyed RC will point out the error and call me a bigot). IOW, there doesn't seem to be any recognition that married couples might enjoy it and want to feel connected to their spouse by it.
DADT is a bad compromise.
You mean they turn Jesus into a cracker before hand and then store Him in a box til they are ready for Him???
>> I think there will always be men who can endure chastity,
You set up a false premise. The issue is about homosexuality, not infidelity.
Hey, Sister. Now you're getting into the Biblical model found in the NT. :)
