Moscow, Russia - Head of Russian space agency won't believe in NASA sending first man on the red planet
(WAPA) - USA astronauts to an asteroid and to Mars no later than 2015, according to NASA. Sooner than predicted in April by US President Barack Obama: Mars in the mid-2030s.
"It is unreal by 2015," said yesterday to press agency Ria Novosti Alexei Krasnov, Russia's Federal Space Agency Roscosmos director to manned space programs. "Probably they won't be able to any sooner than 2023-2025. They do not have the necessary spacecraft, and we will be ready with the project by 2018-2020", Krasnov said.
A scenario boosted by good financial performance of aerospace industry in Russia and a huge financing provided. In fact Russia plans to occupy at least 15% of the world's space services under the national aerospace industry's development strategy for 2015.
At the moment aerospace sector's Output has been growing annually, growth rate exceeds that of both the industry as a whole and the military industrial complex", Anatoly Perminov, head of Roscosmos, said, adding that Also Russian federal space program as well as the Global Navigation System (GLONASS) special federal program are provided with all the necessary resources and financing.
After the once-upon-a-time Moon race, are we now finally seeing start to Mars race?
America has more pressing needs... such as putting tens of millions of unemployed onto never ending welfare.
But we could send them to Mars instead.
Well. It is the Red planet after all.
Man, how awesome would it be to be one of the first people to set foot on another planet? I think I’d sign up even if it was going to be a one-way trip.
Assuming NASA would take me, which I think it’s pretty safe to assume they wouldn’t, LOL.
LOL.Kill two birds with one space-shot
And, Obama will find a way to tax it.
Obama will issue a re-challenge for a race to put the first mosque on the moon. (Russia doesn’t suffer moslems or fools gladly.) And no one will care.
Russia is welcome to go to Mars. I could almost wish they would all go to Mars.
Obama will take the challenge, insist we lose to make Russia look good, demand Russia take Muslim astronauts with them and then fully fund the Russian program with taxpayer dollars.
Obama will want a Muslim to be the first to land on Mars. I doubt the Russians will send a Muslim so Obama may suddenly jump us into this new space race!
Nasa forfeits. Its tough to pray facing mecca up there.
Houston we have a problem.
NASA has no future manned space flight using American craft after February 26, 2011, when the final shuttle flight, STS-134, will be sent up.
In fact, as far as future missions of any kind, the only others that I see listed at NASA's website are:
Lame.
