Wonder why Kirin didn’t ask Shirley about the $13 million dollar lawsuit she had just won against the agency days before she was employed there,,,or why Kirin didn’t ask about the remarks that Black people should work for the USDA because you don’t get fired from a government job....

Kirin,,why?

The fact is, the NAACP, as well as Obama and most Democrats AGREE with what this racist lunatic said. There should be no end to the persection of whites over slavery in the 18th and 19th centuries — and blacks should be given a free ride by society in perpetuity. They’re just sorry she was caught on film spewing their vile filth of an agenda.

She’s blaming white racist tea party members for taking her remarks out of context.

Ok, wait a minute. This is comment 35 on this thread and seriously, I do mean seriously, I'm trying to figure out what is going on here.

First, she said the White House is afraid of what is going on with the Tea Parties. I don't see that as "blaming the Tea Party". Though they do keep on throwing Tea Parties out there, the words...don't they?

I'm not at all sure if she resigned or was fired but whatever happened it sure seemed to happen quick and without much thought. Silly me. As I see it anyway.

I also read on another thread that the white farmer's wife is Sherrod's buddy so color me more confused.

This is a woman who, with her husband, filed some kind of discrimination lawsuit and won mucho bucks against the gubmint...the USDA in fact.

And she just...tada...slinks away from her job?

There's more to this than meets the eyeball. Whatever the truth, none of it looks good on the Obama admin.

####

Magnified tremendously by white leftists willing to play along with the “racism” LIE for political advantage, not to mention smug, “progressive” self-satisfaction points.

An antidote: White conservatives publicly, vociferously and frequently tossing this overdone, tired “racist” horsesh!t back in their faces.

so true.

racism goes to all races, the problem is that the corrupt media seem to not understand that and certainly they either hide it or try to cover it up, either way is is disgusting and if the GOP had any balls they would be calling out this admin and many incidents of racism shown plus those racists and radicals who love mass killers like Mao .

She’s blaming white racist tea party members for taking her remarks out of context.

Oh, and the NAACP never does that to Tea Party members, does it?

Since the NAACP is just making their stuff up, they don't need to take it out of context. It's much easier that way.

If reversed, it just shows an alarming pattern of racial discrimination perpetrated by this administration.

Thanks for posting your comments re current racism in Zimbabwe, South Africa and other “new” African countries.

“We have the Govt using their racism and the MSM are trying to cover this up.”

This happens in South Africa and Zimbabwe and now here

I just switched to CNN to hear some guy say that they are going to talk to the blogger that started this whole thing

They're going to use Alinsky-style tactics.

I don't know anything about this blogger. I don't care who he is, only the truth.

And if racists like Sherrod are placed in positions of power, they should be fired from those positions. We don't need Obama-style institutional discrimination.

‘FWIW, she is apparently claiming today that she was fired. (More likely she was probably asked to resign, which is the normal DC way of getting fired.)

There’s a thread on it somewhere....’

Former Department of Agriculture official Shirley Sherrod says she was forced to resign last night under orders from the White House over racist comments she made at an NAACP dinner in March that were revealed by Big Government yesterday morning.

The Associated Press reported Sherrod’s claim this morning:

Shirley Sherrod says she was forced to step down by the White House even though her comments, in which she says she withheld support for a farmer because he was white, were really part of a story of racial reconciliation. In an interview, Sherrod said the White House’s wishes were relayed by an Agriculture Department undersecretary.

Speaking on CNN this morning, Sherrod criticized the NAACP for abandoning her:

Sherrod said Tuesday that it was “unfortunate that the NAACP would make a statement without even checking to see what happened. This was 24 years ago, and I’m telling a story to try to unite people.”

Sherrod also accused the Obama administration of running scared from Fox News and the Tea Party movement:

She said she tried to explain to USDA officials, “but for some reason, the stuff Fox and the Tea Party does is scaring the administration. I told them to get the whole tape and look at the whole tape and see how I tell people we have to get beyond race and work together.”

Asked why did she resigned instead of fighting, Sherrod said, “I didn’t have any support from USDA. What would I do?”

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack issued a statement last night announcing Sherrod’s forced resignation and denounced Sherrod’s racism, a move that would only have been done with the blessing of Obama.

Sherrod deserves no special consideration from anyone. USDA policy prohibits discrimination, period. We’ve seen her words on the internet. They speak for themselves.

I hope they remember that Breitbart is the master of holding more material in reserve to release later to fire more volleys at the mainstream media after it circles the wagons to protect its narrative.

[snip] Shirley Sherrod, a former USDA employee who resigned after a controversial video surfaced, told CNN Tuesday that members of the Obama administration “harassed” her and demanded she resign her post immediately. In an interview with CNN, Sherrod said she repeatedly fielded calls on Monday during a long car ride, during which officials insisted that she pull over to the side of the road and quit her post.

SHERROD: No, I haven’t had had a chance to talk to anyone. All of this was happening so fast. And it’s unfortunate that the NAACP would make a statement without even checking to see what happened. This was 24 years ago, and I’m telling a story to try to unite people with that now.

Yup, telling a racebaiting story to keep the flames alive in the NAACP ranks....Instigator.

It is conceivable that Sherrod was going to work the story around to one of reconciliation. It wasn’t that from the video which has been posted. However, her remarks could have been an honest description of her feelings during the meeting which she later overcame in order to help the white farmer. There is a lady from Georgia who is claiming to be the “wronged” farmer.

Meanwhile, I hope someone from our side is checking up on those folks who are vouching for her now. They could also be shills.

It is also possible that Andrew Breitbart did not have the full video. In that case, posting what he had was still excusable.

It is NOT possible to excuse the NAACP members who responded during her speech. Those responses demonstrate far more racism that what has been depicted at Tea Party gatherings.

My reading of the NAACP position is that they are going to try to locate the full tape, which as I mentioned may not have been available to Andrew. My reading is that they will conclude if the tape can be EDITED to exonerate their side, including muddling the racist responses of the NAACP crowd, and be used to blast Andrew Breitbart. We will see.

I’m not sure it’s the same guy. She sent him to a lawyer “of his own kind”. She even admits she didn’t help him as much as she could.

Maybe they can also reverse the $13,000,000 award to the lovely Shirley Sherrod:

Shirley Sherrod was appointed Georgia Director for Rural Development by Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack on July 25. Only days earlier, she learned that New Communities, a group she founded with her husband and other families has won a thirteen million dollar settlement in the minority farmers law suit Pigford vs Vilsack.

Minority Farm Settlement

We have wonderful news regarding the case of New Communities, Inc., the land trust that Shirley and Charles Sherrod established, with other black farm families in the 1960’s. At the time, with holdings of almost 6,000 acres, this was the largest tract of black-owned land in the country. Now with a cash award of historic proportions, the group will be able to begin again.
