Trent Lott - “We don’t need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples”
Y'all Politics ^ | July 19, 2010 | Allen Lang

Former Senate majority leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.), now a D.C. lobbyist, warned that a robust bloc of rabble-rousers spells further Senate dysfunction. "We don't need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples," Lott said in an interview. "As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them."

But Lott said he's not expecting a tea-party sweep. "I still have faith in the visceral judgment of the American people," he said.

Of course, Reagan was once a Democrat. That’s not the issue or standard here.

Lott is speaking a surprising amount of truth for Washington, for ‘co-opt’ is what they do and how it happens. ‘Morning Joe’ is exhibit a, but the co-opted are rife throughout the GOP.

Moran has also been endorsed by DeMint, who would know the kind of people he wants to work with in Washington.

Lott represents what is wrong with the GOP.

Which is why I didn't really get overly bothered at the time when he was thrown under the bus over the Strom comments. I was pissed about the double standard and false attack and any defense I made was to fight those issues. Lott was a terrible Majority Leader and I was happy to see him go.

Rush nailed him to the wall yesterday in his discussion of “America’s Ruling Class — And the Perils of Revolution.”
Lott needs to be railroaded out of the party along with a carload of fellow RINO’s on a train to Demonrat land.

Palin and Tancredo have endorsed Tiart. Tancredo withdrew his endorsement of Moran by saying the following:

"After independent research, I have learned disturbing information about Congressman Moran’s support of amnesty and benefits for illegal immigrants.

He voted against my amendment to defund sanctuary cities, essentially granting amnesty to all illegal immigrants in each of those cities.

Congressman Moran also voted with Nancy Pelosi to remove citizenship verification for illegal immigrants to receive welfare benefits.

Then he raised your taxes to pay for those health care benefits.

Congressman Moran even opposed money to secure our borders and build the fence."

“I still have faith in the visceral judgment of the American people,”

And in my visceral judgment Lott is a racist democrat.

I think we need some heavy investigations of K Street and it’s inhabitants. I know, you can’t get term limits on congress, how about term limits on lobbyists? How about a lobbyist can not remain in DC actively lobbying for more than 1 year, with a 3 year time out?

Palin and Tancredo have endorsed Tiart.

Palin also endorsed McCain and Fiorina and Ayotte. She has a soft spot for RINOs I guess.

Regardless, two weeks from today it will all be over and Jerry Moran will be on his way towards election as the next Senator from Kansas.

Right, Trent, Senate disfunction would be denying unanimous consents, thereby forcing senators to put their names to things.

I would like this to go one step further: Senate dysfunction is a good thing. The fewer laws and bills passed the better.

There are too many in the books already and probably 90 percent of them are laws that eat away at our freedom and liberty. The full time Congress tries to justify their existence, and enhance their power, by passing laws that trash our Constitution at every turn.

“We don’t need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples,” Lott said in an interview. “As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them.”

From the former Republican Senate leader. This says it all as far as where the Republican establishment has long been.

That’s what you get when you go with the party boys.

That’s why it is good that we got rid of Bob Bennett in Utah and Bob Inglis in S.C.

I hope we can retire McLame in AZ next month and, in future elections, guys like Lindsey Grahamnesty and Lamar! Alexander.

No more Lotts/Bushes/Doles/pantywaists.

Ask David Shippers about Trent Lott's statement about the impeachment of Bubba Boy. "Henry (Hyde), you're not gonna dump this on us".

Lott is every bad as a liberal communist Democrat.

Worse, even. Cuz he's inside the gate.
