The NAACP is about to learn one of the most basic of all lessons in life those who live in glass houses should avoid provoking a stone-throwing war. After the civil-rights organization threatened to issue a condemnation of Tea Party activism by equating it with racism (a position from which they ultimately retreated), Andrew Breitbart announced that he would publish at least one video of the NAACP itself cheering racism. Breitbart delivers on that promise today at Big Government, showing USDA official Shirley Sherrod explain to an appreciative NAACP audience in July 2009 how she deliberately withheld information from a white farmer in Georgia trying to save his land and his business:

She might have felt that a farmer should talk like an uneducated backwoods hillbilly. Instead he probably talked like the college-educated small business owner that he is, and probably used some big words she didn't know. Well, she taught HIM to try to make her feel inferior.
A FEDERAL OFFICIAL REJOICING she caused a white farmer to lose his home.
CELEBRATING!!!!!!
If this was reversed the MSM would be screaming for the president’s resignation.
(Kagan would have no problem with this)
Thank you for your educated explanation. However, we are talking about a single species here. Some contend that race does not exist physically but only psychologically/sociologically. So endogamy refers to social grouping, not physical, which could infer racial separatism.
Speak for yourself....
***chuckle*** The white male is not free to have white male associations. Since to do so would be viewed as racist. If such an organization did exist within the NRCS, Shirley would be out rioting with her other member associates, demanding an end to this racist association.
Will this thing get fired? Placing bets?

One sentence.
Beyond disgusting.
Beyond the shock of her racist comments, I noticed that she made a statement about learning that it is not about race, but about money. In other words, she was schooled by someone that to be a good progressive/revolutionary, that economic justice and social justice are the motivating factors.
So, in her words, the race battles have been replaced by the more progressive social and economic battles. If we are to stay in the game, we need to change our tactics as well.

fwiw, post 68, some background info on the nonracist NAACP meeting where the nonracist ms sherrod spoke of her nonracist actions as an official with the USDA
That was powerful, but as we both know nothing will happen to this woman from the NAACP. They tolerate systemic racism in their own and excoriate it elsewhere.
These bureaucratic agencies have means to apply standards fairly to stop discrimination.
No where does she say, he didn't qualify, which may be the case, but it was simply a race based decision based solely on the man's skin color admitted by her own words
Actually, this looks like she's been rewarded. She won a lawsuit against Vilsack and then he appointed her to the post.

RDLN Graduate and Board Vice Chair Shirley Sherrod was appointed Georgia Director for Rural Development by Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack on July 25. Only days earlier, she learned that New Communities, a group she founded with her husband and other families (see below) has won a thirteen million dollar settlement in the minority farmers law suit Pigford vs Vilsack.
In announcing the appointment of Shirley and other new officials, Secretary Vilsack said that "These individuals will be important advocates on behalf of rural communities in states throughout the country and help administer the valuable programs and services provided by the USDA that can enhance their economic success."
Shirley is a graduate in the first group of RDLN Leaders and serves as Vice Chair of our Board of Directors. She earned her master's degree from Antioch through RDLN, has helped orient every group of RDLN participants, and has taken leadership in many other ways. She serves as Georgia lead for both the Federation of Southern Cooperatives/Land Assistance Fund and the Southern Rural Black Women's Initiative (SRBWI).
