Tonight, Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) will debate his primary challengers, former Rep. J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) and conservative "tea party" activist Jim Deakin in one of only two Republican primary debates.
During the one hour debate, Hayworth will likely concentrate on McCain's 28 years in Congress with a focus on his position on immigration. Deakin said he will compare and contrast his approach in representing constituents to the "other two entrenched politicians." A McCain campaign spokesman said that the Senator "looks forward to a spirited discussion on the issues facing Arizonans."
The LIVE debate will take place tonight at KTVK-TV in Phoenix, Arizona.
the “McCain diet”, all “Lite and no substance”. :)
>> That closing remark was horrible. McCain managed to patronize him in his remarks.
LOL - I agree.
“Deakin, my friend, you blew the ending, but it was only your first time.”
Votes for who won the debate were (about) 15% McCain, 25% the third individual, and about 60% Hayworth.
Folks, this is going to air on Sunday at 5:30p.m. again.
I sure would appreciate it if you would each join me to comment on that replay. If it is possible, I would like McCain to get held to account for his treachery.
Yes! You’re right and JD came to the debate fully prepared and it paid off.
Mc is too damn old and that much was obvious in election ‘08. He’s no match for the younger, sharper JD HAYWORTH, WHO’S EXCELLENT ON TV.
LOL
Oh and we can’t forget the lettuce.... that’s allowed. Since he’s paying us $50/hr to pick it...
When I was a kid, all we had was the swamp. It was darn hot in July and August. No matter how much H2O I turned on, it never cooled down. (Didn’t understand as a kid the mechanics of how the swampy worked. I finally had to put my sheets and underwear/jammies in the freezer about 1 hour before bedtime)
I thought so too! Woo-Hoo!
Hopefully, there will be a real poll that is meaningful on this. I wonder just how many watched?
There is two debates, I forgot it was tonight and then was on Facebook and JD had posted to be sure and watch the debates tonight and tomorrow night.
I’m still waiting for that job. Since I lost my job, that 50 bucks an hour would come in real handy.
I wish Fox news had shown it.....
Ah, I’ll have to check it out and not eat chili beforehand.
I’ve been here 19 years and this summer’s kicking my ____.
I need the monsoon to break!! We can see lightning all around, but the rain is just not hitting our block.
I jump into the pool when I’m working at home and before I go to bed, that way my hair is wet and keeps me cool(er)...
JD reminds me of Reagan tonight.
Mccain was a sore loser tonight. Refused to look at JD and very bothered by his responses.
When I was a kid we would get a big block of ice and everyone would sleep on the concrete floor in the livingroom with a fan blowing over the block of ice in a tin wash tub. LOL
He could get the sympathy vote for it.
Yup! He was so mad, he was about to blow!!
that would do it. sometimes i got my clothes wet, turned on the fan, and lay in bed soaking wet. wet, but cooler.
Deakin is pitiful and just blanked out in his closing statement. He needs to give it up and get behind the Conservative cause.
McCain got his rapid blinking going full throttle which is a sure giveaway that he's lying faster than his brain can register.
“JD HAYWORTH, WHOS EXCELLENT ON TV.”
Hayworth is a decent statesman. I caught several of his ‘special order’ speeches and debates in Congress. The stint of radio host didn’t hurt either. He learned to listen, and he was always pretty good at that.
For all this charisma and TV appeal talk, no one ever seems to mind that McCain comes off BAD more often than not.
I’ve got a dirty dishrag with more ‘charisma’.
