The House just passed the DISCLOSE Act, by a vote of 219-206. As with so much in this Congress, the only thing bipartisan about the bill was the opposition to it.

Thank you for posting that for me.
[how depressing].....:-[
Both H.R. 5175, and its Senate companion legislation, both contain a severability clause that will keep parts of the bill alive, if the U.S. Supreme Court strikes down any section of the bill.
STATEMENT ON DISCLOSE ACT PASSING THE U.S. HOUSE Thursday, June 24, 2010
The NRAs sworn duty is to protect the Second Amendment above all else. We face attacks daily from the White House, Congress, state legislatures, city councils, courts, the United Nations, multi-billion dollar media conglomerates and billionaires like Michael Bloomberg and George Soros. Make no mistake; if our political voice is silenced, they will destroy the Second Amendment.
We refused to let that happen. We will continue to fight to protect the Second Amendment against all attacks direct or otherwise. And we will never back down from that commitment.

To save themselves today, without a fight, they give all power to those who will destroy them tomorrow. Like sheep to the slaughter.
Damn the NRA-ILA to HELL. Bastards. Tearing up my card, and will never send them another red cents.

Levin is discussing this right now.
The second option is a declaration that the government now lacks any semblence of legitimacy and it is our duty to take up arms. I am not a fan of this one.
What idiots! If the NRA has simply come out guns blazing against this bill, it would have FAILED!!! They sold out their members and the American people. Absolutely bastard traitors.
I am not advocating this, but how much more of this shit can we take, until there’s armed uprising (again,I’m not advocating it, but my GOD how much more can we take)???
This is becoming a common tactic of the SeaHag.
I believe that is the precise idea my FRiend.
“F the NRA.
If they dont care about the 1st Amendment, Im not going to fund them anymore on teh 2nd Amendment. Sellouts.”
If the don’t care about the First, what’s the point of the Second? Agreed.
Clearly, the NRA wasn't paying attention during the so-called health care debate. Bart Stupak, a guy who the NRA thinks is a principled advocate for the 2nd Amendment, was also allegedly a principled advocate for life. Of course, when the chips were down, Stupak proved himself to be just another leftist, trading the lives of the unborn for the favor of his liberal masters.
The NRA thinks with the enactment of this bill, that they will be able to continue to lobby to elect politicians - Democrat or Republican - who champion the 2nd Amendment, when in fact they're only going to be able to elect democrats who will sell them out the moment their support becomes politically inconvenient, or necessary.
“This bill isnt about high constitutional principles. It isnt about protecting the freedom of the American people. And it isnt about creating private-sector jobs or cutting the deficit.”
Yup - that pret’ much describes the entire RAT party right there.
“The House just passed the DISCLOSE Act, by a vote of 219-206...”
Hate to ask - did any pubbies vote for this?
Two - Cao, LA and Castle, DE.
Act of war.
I’m not holding my breath. Are you that sure?
IMHO you can’t partial out 1st Amendment rights to different organizations, based on their size and other qualifications and at the same time disqualify others because of size and other criteria. Everyone needs to be treated the same whether one person or a million persons.
IMHO the Supreme Court will fast track this law if it passed and then rule against it. It is a direct assault by the dimoKKKRATS on their previous ruling. I don’t think this will sit to well with them.
