*snip*
Obama hasn't been accused of wrongdoing and neither have his allies, but top administration aides have been subpoenaed. It's another problem in a tough congressional election year for Obama, who's already dealing with the Gulf oil spill and a lagging economy.
Obama's political opponents will certainly try to tie him to Blagojevich's alleged shenanigans. But Democratic consultant Chris Lehane says Blagojevich has credibility issues, and he predicts Obama won't suffer long-term damage because of the trial.

###In another phone call, this one on Nov. 7, 2008, Rod Blagojevich is debriefing John Harris about a conversation he had with Doug Scofield.
Scofield and Blagojevich discussed how the Obama camp responded to Rod Blagojevich after he met with union leader Tom Balanoff about the Senate seat appointment.
"Didn't know quite what to make of my request. Barack really wants to get away from Illinois politics," Blagojevich said.
Harris testifies that Blagojevich told him he believed then-President-Elect Obama knew Blagojevich wanted a cabinet post in exchange for appointing Obama friend Valerie Jarrett.
"(Blagojevich) feels very confident that the president understands that the governor would be willing to make the appointment of Valerie Jarrett as long as he gets what he's asked for," Harris, Blagojevich's former chief of staff, testified, as he explained the recording, continuing: "The governor gets the cabinet appointment he's asked for."
In the same call, Harris is overheard talking about getting a message from Illinois state Treasurer Alexi Giannoulias.
"So Alexi called me. He wanted to have a discussion about the Senate seat," John Harris is heard telling Blagojevich. "I imagine he'll tell me ... Barack wants Valerie."
Blagojevich: "Listen to me, don't see him today. Just ... let's run the clock now."

Hehehehe. I wish we could hear all the tapes. I bet Obama has some involvement here.

“Blago trial a distant, unwanted headache for Obama”
####
I’m not liking the adjective “distant”
After all this time, shouldn’t this filthy nest of political detritus be coming to trial very soon?
this is going to get really close to the Premier:

Pray for America
I’ve said this before: Blago won’t be successful, but at the very least, he can give Obama and his henchmen plenty of headaches. And that is a good thing.
Can't this be said of ANYONE who has ever been close, to Obama?
I found that this site has commentary and does
play the courtroom-played tapes for pretty much
every trial day.
The list of videos is on the right, and the first
Blagojevich trial segment is June 1, as you scroll
down.
Yesterday’s coverage and trial tapes are up.
I see Bill Ayers was interviewed last night (not
about the trial) ............... I C K !!!

Up to his fly-away ears.
Don’t ya love an article written in damage control mode, like this one is?
If this trial takes out Obama, Blago will go down as a great american hero.
How twisted is that? Though I must admit, I like the guy.
“Blagojevich has credibility issues”
Unfortunately, tapes don’t lie. The only issue is whether the most incriminating tapes get played.
The only reason the DNC Media writes about Democrat scandals is to defuse them.
“If this trial takes out Obama, Blago will go down as a great american hero.”
If this happens, I’d even be happy to guarantee Blago 1/10,000 of a percent of the $9T this would save us: he’d walk away with $9 million and we’d all be spared $30,000 per person in debt avoided. Sure the guy’s corrupt, but even sleazeballs can turn out to be heroes if the right opportunity presents itself.
I always thought he'd make an interesting sec of state. Shmooze, lie, wheel and deal FOR us rather than waste his talents in petty state politics.
I bet Obama has some involvement here.”
IMO, NObama’s got larger ‘credibility problems’ that Blago does.
Rahm is the one to watch as he tries to piroutte out of the WH veeeeeerrrrrrrry quietly-if he were to do that before the mid-term election it would look odd wouldn’t it? 1st of the year he’ll be gone but like i said watch his moves and what his public priorities are-how much or how little he does his lord and master’s bidding-i believe at some point he’ll be sitting in a court room ,too, in ref to blago,et al.
