President Obama announced Wednesday that he has accepted Gen. Stanley McChrystal's resignation as the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan following a scathing article in which he and his aides were quoted criticizing the administration for its handling of the war.
In doing so, Obama nominated Gen. David Petraeus, the head of U.S. Central Command and the former commanding general in Iraq, to replace him. The president stressed that while the decision was a difficult one, it does not represent a change in the course of the war.
"This is a change in personnel, but it is not a change in policy," Obama said in the Rose Garden, Petraeus by his side and McChrystal nowhere to be seen.

well they can’t say it’s Bush’s fault anymore. time to play ball Obamie.. like a real man.
McChrystal probably was looking for an excuse to get back to the US and begin prepping is family with emergency supplies.
Obama replaces the guy he chose, with the guy Bush had chosen....Too Much! Too Much!
I wonder if anyone explained to The Won that he just demoted General Patreus?
Since when do liberals come up with their own ideas?
Good to know we're still @#$%^&@....
And now the question is: will McChrystal choose to tell us all what he really thinks? We will know the answer to this by watching to see where he goes and what rank he wears. Three and Four star general officers wear the rank of their appointment. No three or four star appointment, no third or fourth star, they revert to the grade of Major General (two stars). On retirement, they normally retire in the highest grade served, but can be made to retire as a Major General if they have fallen from favor.
If McChrystal gets another three or four star job, or retires as a four star general, you can bet that the price paid was to keep his mouth shut. If hes out the door as a Major General, he will be spilling the beans very soon.
I believe McChrystal wanted the whole world to know a few things about this administration...
It’s been well over an hour since Obama made the announcement and DRUDGE still has nothing on this.
What’s going on there?

Drudge is a one man show (?)
Maybe he’s taking a bath.
General Betray-us?
Can’t wait to hear how MSNBC spins this one.
“DRUDGE still has nothing on this.”
Drudge needs a co-partner.
Remember when they called him “General Betray-us” ??
Remember Hillary and other democrats accused him of being a liar ? (That was OK, saying Obama lied is now, get it??)
The Left is going to have a hard time cheering this as even elected Democrats supported the “betray us” peanut gallery razz.
25% of the Senate (that would be roughly HALF of the Democrats there):
(2007)
The 72-25 vote condemned the full-page ad that appeared in The New York Times last week as Gen. David Petraeus, the top military commander in Iraq, testified on Capitol Hill. The ad was headlined: “General Petraeus or General Betray Us? Cooking the books for the White House.”

“Obama replaces the guy he chose, with the guy Bush had chosen....Too Much! Too Much!”
Excellent point.
Memo to General Petraeus: The media is not your buddy. Don’t let magazine reporters hang around you and your staff for a month.
Good luck.
Gen. Stanley McChrystal for President 2012!!!!
The media calls it an “interview”. No “interview” lasts for 30 days.
Hillary Clinton also proclaimed “Bush Knew” (in advance about the 9-11 attacks) from the floor of the Senate in February 2002 and yet she isn’t called a “trufer” by the Pravda Media.
