*snip*
This morning the President accepted my resignation as Commander of U.S. and NATO Coalition Forces in Afghanistan.
I strongly support the President's strategy in Afghanistan and am deeply committed to our coalition forces, our partner nations, and the Afghan people. It was out of respect for this commitment and a desire to see the mission succeed that I tendered my resignation.

By this statement it is clear that Mcchrystal brought his resignation papers to obambi , and “tendered” it to obambi.
Mcchrystal resigned with honor. obambi tries to portray it as “accepting his resignation” like he had ordered him to resign—NOT. McChrystal struck a nerve, and reached an obama audience targeting Rolling Stone with all of its obots. Let’s hope they keep him in specops-
The General put his nation before even his career. Someone needed to blow the whistle, and he picked up the mantle.
Thanks for the links. I appreciate it.
From what I understand, yon had imbed status revoked.
Personally this is what I think. McC was getting pollitically stabbed in the back. He got HALF what he requested in troops from OholyO. He wasn’t getting the support needed. I thinkmaybe McC set this up a bit and choose RS as the media to Get some damned attention brought to what is happening (or not). I could easily be wrong.
That being said Yon has been embedded with our troops literally for years. He does have he trust of the troops because he has been living and grunting with them for a long time. Thats why I trust him.
You are KIDDING??? Patreaus is OK with OPEN GAYS in the Military??????? OMG!!!!!
The bigger losers are our troops on the ground. First the idiotic ROE insisted on by obambi, with mcchrystal’s compliance— and our dead go way up. Then this stupid little event, that allows a rag like RS to speak for a commanding general. I think that obambi is doing to the military what he is doing to the country. mcchrystal had had enough. Petraeus has other goals. You get your first star and it is all political from there on up.
Wouldn’t be the first time:
“If your officer’s dead and the sergeants look white,
Remember it’s ruin to run from a fight:
So take open order, lie down, and sit tight,
And wait for supports like a soldier.
Wait, wait, wait like a soldier . . .
When you’re wounded and left on Afghanistan’s plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
An’ go to your Gawd like a soldier.
Go, go, go like a soldier,
Go, go, go like a soldier,
Go, go, go like a soldier,
So-oldier ~of~ the Queen!”
—Rudyard Kipling “The Plains of Afghanistan”
Unfortunately, due to the educational systems of America, unless a child had/has excellent teaching from his parents he will be liberal. History is ridiculed and cast aside, government is taught from the liberal point of view. Mostly due to the union's points of view.
The General is a patriot and I believe a follower the Constitution. He had no choice about the rules of engagement; as they have been ordered from the offices above him in rank and mostly the President and his lawyers: so he had no choice but to do or resign. No one is perfect. He has handled himself well, considering he requested 30,000 more troops and he had to wait 4 or 5 months to get part of that number and not enough for winning the offensive battle there.
Very, very, frustrating.
Show me some one else that has such a career as he has had. Show me someone else that has been tested in real struggles. Show me someone that want America to survive and thrive and not by onerous government controlling everything.
God help us in our day, In Jesus name, amen.
>> unless a child had/has excellent teaching from his parents he will be liberal.
Gen. McChrystal is not a child.
>> Show me some one else that has such a career as he has had.
There are many. General Petraeus comes to mind.
>> Show me someone else that has been tested in real struggles.
>> There are many — from top to bottom in our wonderful Armed Forces. But, among flag officers, Gen. Petraeus comes to mind.
>> Show me someone that want America to survive and thrive and not by onerous government controlling everything.
There are many. Gen. Petraeus again comes to mind.
My point: McChrystal is an adult and exercised of his own free will the flawed judgment that got him where he is today — including voting for the man who means to destroy America as surely as he destroyed the General’s career. I am happy McChrystal is no longer in charge of our brave troops. He has been replaced by a better man.
>> God help us in our day, In Jesus name, amen.
On that we agree, FRiend. God bless.
Not being “perfect” as you say, has nothing to do with the argument. You said something to the effect that you want him to run for president. We have a history of electing less than “perfect” humans to political office.
What I, and many others, are saying that his voting for Obama brings his judgment to question...no intelligent thinking person should have been fooled by the scam of Obama, especially someone who’s career is involved with leadership. This tells me that the general is a pretty committed social and political liberal and as more info filters out, this is apparently the case.
I don’t want to ever see a person in the White House who is a supporter of Obama’s political beliefs.
Agreed. If that is his beliefs I would not want him either.
The current congressional members in Washington are not good either. Too corrupt. Not brave. Always yielding and agreeing to reprehensible, and destructive to America laws and policies. Our Constitution has been subverted before our eyes and they do no care one whit. They have apparently agreed to ignore it entirely. We must have some new strong conservative Republicans. Or ELSE all is lost. We are on the brink of losing our nation as we have known it, forever. MO
God help us in our day, in Jesus name, amen.
Things have been decided behind the scenes away from the American people. We know the press suppresses all that is detracting to Obama and focuses on the negatives about all things conservative and Republican.
I fear we are at the precipice of US bankruptcy, death to seniors (no medicare treatments for serious diseases), amnesty of illegal aliens (votes), kill all the babies, (population control), loss of private property, and the ID implant for all of us, in the name of having medical information, proving identity, making in unnecessary to carry cash anymore for anything,(the mark of the beast, without which one can buy or sell) is very near,. The Bilderburgs say we will will have one by 2017. The fast forward speed of Obama is bringing it all to now quickly.
God is sovereign, let us repent and turn back to Him, in Jesus name, amen.
To my knowledge he hasn't outright taken a stand of removing "don't ask; don't tell," but he has supported the review.
Note... Meet the Press, February 21, 2010:
MR. GREGORY: Do you think soldiers on the ground in the field care one way or the other if their comrades in arms are gay or lesbian? And in his Senate ASC testimony on March 16, 2010, he said he had an 8-minute prepared statement on the topic, but he had only 6 minutes so they wouldn't let him read it. The Hill reported: "Gen. David Petraeus, the head of U.S. Central Command, said Tuesday that the time has come to consider changing the controversial law barring openly gay from people serving in the U.S. military."
GEN. PETRAEUS: I'm not sure that they do. We'll see. Again, that's why this review panel. You know, all we have are, are personal soundings to go on, and I've certainly done some of that myself. I mean, you've heard General Powell, who was the chairman when the policy was implemented, had a big hand in that, who said that, yes indeed, the earth has revolved around the sun a number of times since that period 15 months ago. And you've heard a variety of anecdotal input. We have experienced, certainly, in the CIA and the FBI, I know. I served in fact in combat with individuals who were gay and who were lesbian in combat situations and, frankly, you know, over time you said, "Hey, how's, how's this guy's shooting?" Or "How is her analysis," or what have you. So--but we'll see. Again, that's the importance of this review that will be conducted by General Hamm and also by the DOD general counsel. I think it is hugely important that we have the answers from the questions that they'll be asking in a very methodical way, something we've not done before because of the emotion and the sensitivity of this issue.
The military has many, many senior officers far more conservative and capable of leadership than McC.
To beat that dead horse is useless, and to phrase it as a prayer is, welll.....
OMG!! Patreaus is a TRAITOR if he thinks this should be lifted!!
McChrystal
voted for obambi, tied our troops hands in combat, good ridence.
Now the question is, will the ROE be changed or not?
He is above the affairs of men. Men continue to act against God on going.
Forgive us Father, we know not how mistaken we are. Help us to walk with You, in Jesus name, amen.
