No, He van send him back to Afghanistan so that all deaths caused by the WH’s murderous ROE, can be blamed on him instead of Obama and his ‘Rats in the WH and the State Dept, and their half assed ‘Medal of “Restraint”’(?).

I’ve never held a high-level job, so I can’t be for sure, but it seems that folks like cabinet members, military chiefs and so forth are asked to put up a signed, undated resignation when they take the job.

That way the boss can use it anytime he wants. Does that make sense?

Would resigning his commission make him lose his retirement? You get paid for what you have done, not what you can do.

Just curious.

I know that Generals cannot really retire and are subject to recall.

As I understand it he can resign his commission but cannot get away from it by retiring. If he resigns his commission he loses his retirement pay and benefits.

Obama and the lying filth that run the “Mainstream” were able to fool a *lot* of people.

But they can’t fool all of the people all of the time.

If we believe General Vallely, patriotic field grade officers are leaving in droves. McChristal was perceived by some as an Obama fellow traveler. Michael Yon believes McChristal was behind his loss of embedded status. McChrystal was also claimed the source of engagement rules requiring foot soldier to patrol without a loaded chamber. If true that is betrayal. So I doubt that it is. Officers must often take responsibility silently for the mistakes of others. But Obama's gang is not making mistakes. His intent is to stall until the change he seeks has been accomplished. There are few field grade officers, most of whom have an excellent knowledge of history who don't know that Obama is ineligible because of his alien status at birth. He had to have been born a natural born citizen, which meant being born in the country of two citizen parents. To presume that our framers, after a revolution, would pass control of our military to someone whose father was a Royalist is ridiculous. About that at least, Obama II was honest; he took his Dreams from his Father, the Muslim, Marxist, British Subject who sought Sharia law and Marxism for his predominently Christian country, Kenya.

About this puzzle palace we can only guess. It is possible that McChrystal read the statement by the Egyptian Foreign Minister in Reuters or Al Jazzera last week where the Minister assured his world that Obama had told him he is still a faithful Muslim, and asked the minister to wait a bit longer to see the proof. Whatever Obama has in mind, military officers and the judiciary are complicit. We already know that Eric Holder would hire Khalid Sheik Mohammad on the spot if he weren't tied up with some minor legal matter in New York. My guess is that McChrystal has seen enough of his soldiers die executing the political ambitions of a gaggle of committed Marxists, who will live like kings when they control the petroleum reserves of the world. If McChrystal thinks he can pacify the Muslim citizenry I recommend that he read Hirsi Ali or Wafa Sultan. (Sultan believes that only a Saudi King can reform Islam.) It is

You and me both. Every time some public figure does something remotely commendable there's always a mad rush by the resident peanut gallery around here to post "(Fill in the Blank) for president 2012!" Junk like that lowers the collective IQ of the website. Maybe that's the intent, who knows.

Refuse McChrystal’s resignation. The general is a man of honor, and no idiot. There’s a good chance he’ll show up in Washington with a resignation letter in hand. President Obama could refuse it, and then go to the public and say something like, “our efforts in Afghanistan are too important to let an unfortunate lapse of judgment like this undermine them. So I told General McChrystal that he must finish his task, and that I would not accept his resignation at this time.”

The the General should counter 'negotiate' again with his previous urgent request for the additional 'surge' troops. That our efforts in Afghanistan are too important to let an unfortunate lapse of preparation undermine the great sacrificies of our troops and the American people. The addition of these requested troops will therefore allow us to finish this task.

You don’t get to be a 4-star without knowing how to play the game. He comes from a military family. He was also a Pentagon spokesman. I would say he knew exactly what he was doing.

Given the response, or delayed response, he received to his request for troops, and no doubt little to no communication from the CinC, VPOTUS, US Ambassador, OR the Natl Security Advisor, he assumed his last option was to go public in a way that would grab their attention. They may not read his memos, but they sure read Rolling Stone!

McChrystal was made to execute new Rules of Engagement that put every soldier’s life at risk unnecessarily. At some point, any political aspirations he may have had would have to have been put aside in favor of the troops serving under him. I think for that same reason he hung in as long as he did, rather than resign long ago when it was clear this WH was not behind him or his troops.
