Obama: Republicans blocking progress in Congress (one can only hope)

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama accused Republicans on Saturday of blocking bills that would boost the nation's economic recovery and lift a $75 million cap on what oil companies must pay to families and small businesses affected by an oil spill.

Obama said a stalled Senate bill would extend unemployment benefits to workers without jobs and a tax credit for first-time homebuyers. He also said the legislation would save thousands of jobs across the country.

"Unfortunately, the Republican leadership in the Senate won't even allow this legislation to come up for a vote," the president said in his weekly radio and Internet address. "And if this obstruction continues, unemployed Americans will see their benefits stop. Teachers and firefighters will lose their jobs. Families will pay more for their first home."

Somebody call Barry OEars a Waahbulance. He has a Democrat majority in the House and Senate, the Judiciary is full of Marxist moonbats, and the media still fights over who gets to kiss his a$$.

The big one is the bailout for the states (aka Union bailout). This is the big one. They really don’t care about the rest nearly as much. They must pay off their labor union allies and this push to “save the teachers” is really what that is about. Everyone should keep their eye on this one. Not sure how they will try to package it next, but this is the one that really matters to them.

The hole cannot be plugged with a piece of legislation.

I guess the opposition party is supposed to just roll over and let the president do whatever he wants. Just like the Dems did for Bush. Ha ha.

You claim both houses and a public mandate then complain a minority has stopped you?

All you want is "bi-partisan" cover and this time....god willing you won't get it.

Yup, RATS infest government and the press, and Republicans are obstructing?

How is that even possible? The truth is, some RATS have realized they have signed their own death warrants lately and think they can make nice and recover before the elections in November.

Right now, his own RATS are Barry's problem. And Barry is the RATS problem. It's a hate-hate relationship!

ANOTHER extension for “first-time home buyers”??? That taxpayer-subsidized give-away had been on the books for two years before finally expiring last month. It certainly didn’t do much to revive this dead economy. People without jobs don’t get loans to buy homes these days...not even at Fannie Mae.
