WASHINGTON – The Senate passed legislation Friday to spare doctors a 21 percent cut in Medicare payments — but the last-ditch effort did not come in time.

Moments after the Senate acted, Medicare announced it would begin processing claims it has already received for June at the lower rate. The reason: the House cannot act on the fix until next week.

This is going to put us out of business, literally.

As it should. You’ve been profiting off of poor sick people for years, cutting off limbs that shouldn’t be cut off and enhancing your income at the expense of all Americans. It’s time for social justice. It’s time profits cease in favor of social justice for all. /s

the charge is the same but, the insurance company only pays 80% for a PA/NPC of what it does for a DR... and then, only because there are DRs around

in private practice, the DR is NOT always around for the PA to bill under(incident to) and then the pay is even less

and if they DO full bill when the DR isn't there, it's ILLEGAL...

“Many doctors will no longer see Medicare cases.” More and more doctors were refusing to see Medicare cases even before the cut. This will just speed it up. Either that or doctors will reduce the quality of care they give to Medicare patients. Cheaper and less reliable artificial grafts for surguries, etc. Rushing through surgeries.

Exactly true.

People coreced and trapped in the Medicare prison can no longer see the best doctors.

What does Congress care? They have their own gold-plated plan. Medicare/Medicaid is for the peasants.

Absolutely true. Congress and Obama exempted themselves from all of this horror.

They deserve a rocket sled to hell.

Whom, pray, tell, is surprised by this? According to Harry Reid, Sharron Angle is responsible.

I think she should work like hell and leave the rest up to God. Harry has had his time. He needs to roll over and play dead.

Some of his recent ads may be on You Tube, but I don’t have the patience to go there today.

You’d be surprised at how patriotic the “Medicare patients” are today. They fought for you in Viet Nam, and some of the older ones fought in WWII. Don’t underestimate the power of patriotism.

Especially when they can see, back through the mists of time, why we are where we are today. Remember the Viet Nam Vets were ridiculed for years, when it was, in reality, the fault of Congress for losing that war. When politicians get involved in war, soldiers have no chance.

Do not forget, that the administrative costs alone to process the claims first at the old rate, now at the new %21 cut rate, then again (hopefully) at the new increased rateonce it passes - is a few hundred million dollars.
ie just the administrative cluster f*** this inability to get a ‘doc fix’ is enourmously expensive to the medicare claims process. Its enourmously expensive to the docs’ offices as well. So, instead of tax money going to docs, its now going to administrative costs to monkey around with various changing claims processes.
Money back in teh gov pocket.
Redistribution at work.

And yes, I’m a PCP - and this is murderous.
Nothing but bad news for my entire clinic and all my patients.

I’m convinced their strategy has always been to bankrupt the private health care system, then try some ridiculous ‘bailout package’ to salvage whatever system they want to create.
Thi is a large step in that direction.
idiots and traitors.

Primary care as a career is a NIGHTMARE that will not change with Obama’s effort to put a measly 500 more primary care docs in the system by 2015. It’s all about BALANCE in life and with lives spiraling out of control in health care you can rest assured that any truly intelligent human being making health care a career will surely SPECIALIZE and not work as a PCP and be P!mped out by the obama admin. With more patients coming into the system such as the 40 million plus illegals saying I NEED and I WANT, all I can say is GOOD LUCK!

I have a friend who works in a doctor’s office who offered doctor visits to those with Medicare for a discounted cash rate which many took instead of being reimbursed. Even with the heavily discounted rate the doctor charged in cash it was still more cost-effective for him to give the care to these folks that way than to file the paperwork, pay his administrative assistant to file the paperwork, and then wait for medicare reimbursement. Now, if Obamacare ends up like Canada’s system there will be no way for doctors to discount their services for cash...

We have a problem looming on the horizon that few people have seen. What if the Rats lose control of either the House or Senate and haven’t passed the constitutionally required spending bills? Then they will pass them, of course, but WHAT will be in them. Look for the lame ducks to try to sneak all sorts of things in them that they can’t get passed during normal session including cap and trade, shamnesty, the Fairness Doctrine, giving Obastard control of the Internet, Americorps for journalists, newspaper bailouts and more.

The AMA does not speak for doctors. The vast majority of those I know do not belong. A better representative and authoritative voice on issues physicians face is http://www.aapsonline.org/

nobama care is (a) stay well or (b) die. Short...to the point. If DIMs & LIBs don’t abort you, they want to kill you when you are sick and or old. Compassionate, huh? Hopefully I’ll see some nobama stickers on cars tomorrow so I can ask them WTF they were thinking. Moonbat Asshats!
