$7-a-gallon gas?The folly of O's oil-spill 'fix'

President Obama has a solution to the Gulf oil spill: $7-a-gallon gas.
That's a Harvard University study's estimate of the per-gallon price of the president's global-warming agenda. And Obama made clear this week that this agenda is a part of his plan for addressing the Gulf mess.
So what does global-warming legislation have to do with the oil spill?
Good question, because such measures wouldn't do a thing to clean up the oil or fix the problems that led to the leak.
The answer can be found in Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel's now-famous words, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste -- and what I mean by that is it's an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before."

Will there be any food stores? Could they afford the transportation costs this would ensue. $7.00 a gallon would destroy the economy and businesses closing. When is it we say enough!

I hedged by buying a Mini Cooper two weeks ago. Amazing gas mileage compared to my 400HP GTO.So compromise. Here's a Mini w/V8 power.

I commute to downtown Pittsburgh 21 miles each way. I have over 400 miles on this tank of gas and still have 1/4 left. According to the computer, I am getting 35.8 mpg. I'll know better when I fill the tank.

$4 gas had a large part in crashing the economy. $7 would kill it for good.

What were YOU thinking?I'd pretty much worn it out in four years driving it year round. I'd replaced the brakes twice at $1500 a pop. It was fun.

“But it’s the same old agenda, a huge energy tax that will raise the cost of gasoline and electricity high enough so that we’re forced to use less.”
I already use less.
I shut the lights off behind me, I use cold water when i can, I don’t cruise my car around aimlessly, I keep my heat fairly low, When i’m away i shut my oil burner off etc, etc....
So, For all of my energy saving habits i can now expect a tripling of my energy bills?
How lovely.

The kenyan may be over-estimating the good will of the American people. Being a foreigner, I doubt that he fully understands that we have a vast patience, but it is not infinite.

Hogs really do not get that great efficiency as far as mpg goes. My Sportster with a 2.5 gallon tank would go about 75 miles (with about .5 gal in reserve) before I started looking for a station to top off again. YMMV.
Then again, I did not buy it for gas efficiency. *smile*

Do some road racing in that new little fella; the cornering is world class....one thing to watch though - be careful in anything approaching high water; the sidemount engine is very susceptible to total ruin if it gets too wet.

A lot of family farms will fold as will many small ranches (even large ranches will feel the squeeze). Depending on how things go, many family farms will flourish, as transportation costs could drive (no pun intended) people to local sources.

All of Obama's policies are guided by the depopulation agenda
of the secret societies who created him and who pull his puppet strings
to do their bidding. The global warming hysteria is part of this.
They will continue to try to spin the oil spill in this direction.

I would agree. I’ll take any real car against those Jap/Euro wienies.
They’ll have to pry my 20-ft old Lincoln out of my cold, dark garage.
