Barack Obama will spend all of twenty minutes meeting with BP executives at the White House tomorrow, according to a White House release of the president's schedule for Wednesday--a meeting that Obama demanded.
CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller posted about the meeting on Twitter this evening:
Tomorrow at the WH: Obama's schedule shows him spending just 20 minutes in the meeting with BP executives at 1015am. about 1 hour ago via web
Knoller also Tweeted that Obama will make a statement about the meeting at 12:15 p.m. from the Rose Garden.
Obama spent four hours playing golf on Sunday. That would be about three hours and forty minutes longer than he is planning to meet with the BP executives over what Obama has called the worst environmental disaster in our nation's history.
Obama has also compared the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico to the terrorist attacks of 9/11 and World War II.
Twenty minutes.
Wed is literally party night at Nero’s Palace.
If my memory serves me correctly, he spent more than 20 minutes at the “beer summit.” But of course, there were beverages.
So, do they get to leave out the servant’s entrance then? The loading dock, maybe?
Does The One think that Saint Sarah (Newsweek’s barf alert cover) will be silenced by this token joke of a “meeting”, glaringly held nearly two months too late?
He probably calculated it would only take 20 minutes to kick the BP rep’s a$$...then off to tee time. He better have his “tee parties” now because he sure won’t be enjoying them after we get done with our “tea parties” in November
So we’re supposed to know the meeting is a calculated insult? He’s treating this guy just like Bibi Netanyahu.
He thinks he’s sending Sarah a message that he’s the boss, and he controls his schedule, etc. What he’s doing is giving her an opening big enough to drive a Mac truck through. She’ll probably have him barreling down the road in a white Bronco before she’s through. ;)
I suspect you are correct. He has zero knowledge of economics, and a corporate guy can’t avoid discussing that. You have to remember...the one thing that a guy with no leadership background can ever do...is associate with a guy with a vast amount of leadership background.
Intelligent, successful people in the business world have no interest to him. BP executives, of course, might be too hard to handle, and too smart to see what a DOOFUS Obama is when they try to work out a solution with him or deal with his administration over the oil leak problem. He wants no details from them, he just wants to point fingers and move things along his way. So he only gives them a courtesy meeting...and then it will be off to the golf course and the heck with the GULF.
I’ll bet he won’t even be able to look them in the eye.
This effort will add another wedge between the US and Britain. This deal is starting to stink like a very big rat.
Has a more important schedule item, playing golf.
What a useless waste of space.
Well, kris, you have to realize that in Øbamanation Land...
the Øne's Gølf Game is more important than the øil spill. Or, matter of fact, any of the American People except liberals and uniøns, that is!
All this sorry SOB cares about is how he can leverage this disaster into passage of his Nazi schemes through congress before November.
I think that you meant Zimbabwe.
I suspect that Obama is going to try the same trick with BP that he did with the bankers (I’m the only one standing between you and the pitchforks). That’s why the speech was given to the public BEFORE the meeting with BP. Classic shakedown.
How long does it take to say, “This is a stick-up?”
But he smiled and said with a toothy grin, "If you bring me an ice cream cone, maybe 30 minutes."
