President Barack Obama, in his televised speech to the nation Tuesday, will announce the creation of an oil recovery “czar” to oversee progress in siphoning crude from the Gulf of Mexico oil spill, his chief spokesman said.
Speaking on ABC television’s “Good Morning America” program, White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said the position is envisioned as “somebody that will be in charge of a recovery plan, putting a recovery plan together...when we get past the cleanup and response phase of this disaster.”

You know, when I read the headline, I was really, really hoping this was another one of John Semmens satire pieces.

Don’t mean to quibble, but I believe the salary is now $400,000.00.
It has been clear for many years that Dems have only one measuring rod when it comes to response to anything, be it 9/11, Katrina, Murrah bombing, Elian Gonzales, the Wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, Iran, Israel, whatever. It is not what is moral, not what is legal or constitutional, not what is effective, not what is good for the nation. The sole measuring rod for Dems is what is good for the party. And Obama and his people have decided that damaged environment caused by oil is good for their party and its environment agenda. Now, after nearly two months, they want to appear to be trying to repair the damage caused by evil oil. Never mind they could have mitigated the damage long before now.
It’s like a failing business owner stalling on calling the fire department when the factory is burning. The question becomes whether the owner is better off with a saved factory or one burned to the ground.

Seriously, it'll be primarily a money man as opposed to primarily an oil man. Someone who can raid the billions in the new escrow account Obama is determined to hang around BP's neck like a petroleum-soaked albatross.
The escrow will be an inexhaustable supply for pork and patronage.
So, I'll make a wild guess that it will be William Daley, Clintoon's Commerce Secretary and bro to Da Mare, Richard Daley the Second, of Chicago.
Big Bill Daley is adept in the Chicago ways of pork and patonage, and his oil experience comes from decades of Daley experience in greasing the ways for graft and extortion.
