One of the daughters of former President George W. Bush isn't following the Republican Party line when it comes to the issue of the health care legislation that cleared Congress last spring without any GOP support.
In an interview on Fox News Sunday, Barbara Bush said she's "glad" Democrats passed the massive spending measure and President Barack Obama signed it into law.
"Why do, basically, people with money have good health care and why do people who live on lower salaries not have good health care?" the 28-year old said.
"Health should be a right for everyone." Asked specifically what she though about the president's health care initiative, Bush replied with a smile, "That is a good question - obviously the health care reform bill was highly debated by a lot of people and I guess I'm glad the bill was passed."

I guess I’d have to say I’m glad this little dum dum isn’t going to run for office.
Her father needs to educate her.
Hi I'm Barbara and I'm all for world peace, free health care and all those nice things us elitist have!
Wasn't it Reagan who for nothing but PC reasons nominated the terrible "women" SDO to SCOUTS (who helped damage law in this Nation for decades to come).
Wasn't it Reagan who flip / flopped on FICA and the need for privatizing Soc Sec only to turn and raise FICA taxes on all Americans, thus burdening an entire other generation to the largest wealth stealing scheme ever to come out of Washington (doing this mind you, at a time, when Soc Sec was at a much more manageable level and moving toward a quasi co-public/private system would have been a much easier process).
Was it not Reagan who gave out blanket "real" amnesty.. (which was NOT part of GWB immigration plan, there were dozens of more requirements and penalties under GWB plan than Reagan's pure amnesty)...and again, when Reagan was looking at this issue it was at a much more manageable level than in the past several years.
Was it not Reagan that chose to "cut and run" after putting our brave warriors in harms way in Beirut, only to see them brutally attacked and murdered by "Islamic terrorists"....GWB took the fight to these terrorists no matter where they were and no matter the heat or public polls from those abroad or here at home.
Now, this list could go on and on....But it is needless. Don't give me Reagan had a DEM controlled Congress, blah, blah.....Reality is a great majority of those "Ds" back then were "Southern Ds" who today would be even better than the "Rhinos" GWB had to work with in his majority "R" House and Senate we held for a few years... That's a reality most don't want to recognize when understanding the workings of Congress...
Another reality is both men, to me, were damn fine leaders. They dealt with issues and made tough decisions the best they could under the circumstances they found themselves. Both men were strong on defense, both men cut taxes (though Reagan turned around and raised them! GWB never did!) both men dearly loved this Nation and believed in its people.... But I'm sick to death of those running down GWB while giving foolish and silly passes to Reagan at every turn. Or simply holding these men to even more foolish standards when on understand we live in a Limited Republic with represenative Gov't...not a dictatorship. And that by understanding reality in the adult world means there will and must be compromise from time to time. Even when you don't like it.
lesbian is “pretty solid”??
Bush & Cheney are very similar to McCain. We say McCain is persona non-grata because of his amnesty, but Bush OR Cheney would have signed that lickety-split.
No nostalgia!
Ms.Bush will want for nothing the rest of her life.I’m sure she’s suffering from affluenza as it’s known on the Rush Limbaugh show.
I am amazed at all the posters on this thread that think that parents are responsible for everything their kid does. Good luck with that people.
Why do people with money get to send their children to Yale, and people who don't have a lot of money, don't?
I'm pretty sure we could all do this forever; but, honestly, this is what passes for a deep thought about a complicated issue?
Laura was VERY crucial in Bush going LIBERAL!!! It DESTROYED his Presidency!!
AMEN! ...And thank you for saying what needs to be shouted from the rooftops.
WE'VE HAD NO PRESIDENT WHO'S RESPECTED OUR NATIONAL SOVEREIGNTY AND GOVERNED IN OUR BEST INTEREST SINCE REAGAN!
Bush made several mistakes and was a poor President. After his terms were finished, the nation elected Obama.
That pretty much sums it all up in a nutshell.
From privileged families whose children never had a dose of real life. The only "bad" things she and her twin ever suffered were media witch hunts.
A pretty twit!
vaudine
Calm down. Calm down. Take a deep breath and go back and read the post once more. Slowly. It says:
"There is no hope for most of our kids in their twenties."
Feel better? Hope so. ;-)

Exactly. The rest of our presidents after Reagan have been as incompetent as Jimmy Carter and as Liberal as LBJ himself. Obama is the sum total of ever POTUS after Reagan meaning Poppy, Clinton, and W's liberalism, incompetency, globalism, socialism, and arrogance, all combined into one man. Reagan was indeed our last true America's best interest at heart president and man of moral conscience POTUS.
For heaven’s sake, NO MORE BUSHES!
I didn’t care before and I don’t care now.
Another trust fund nitwit. Bush #1 gave us KKKlinton. Bush #2 gave us ZerObama.
Bush “pampered and guilt ridden” daughter......
