New Jersey Politicians Want A List of NRA Members and their Employers!

Friday, June 11, 2010

In a blatant attempt by entrenched New Jersey politicians to strong arm citizens who oppose their re-election, Assemblywoman Linda Greenstein (D-14) and her co-sponsors have introduced legislation which would require certain contributors to “issue advocacy organizations”, including the NRA, to have their names, addresses and their employers information sent to the government.

A2595, if passed, will mandate that any “issue advocacy organization” classified under IRS Code as a 501(C) (3), 501 (C) (4) or 527 that engages in the election or defeat of any person to State or local elective office; the passage or defeat of any public question; or that provides political information on any candidate, must submit the names and addresses of contributors and their employers to the Election Law Enforcement Commission.

Not only is Assemblywoman Greenstein (D-14) the prime sponsor of A2595, but she is also the Chair of the committee that will hear the bill. The Assembly Judiciary Committee will hear the bill on Monday, June 14th at 10:00 am.

A2595 is a shameless attempt to intimidate citizens who engage in the legislative and political process.

Please contact your Assemblymembers today and urge him or her to oppose A2595!

Sure, just as soon as we get a list of their names, addresses, and the schedule for their armed guards.

Bamahead - thanks for the ping.
Of course this deserves a CWII ping.
Almost every CWII dystopia begins with some government idiot going after legal gun owners.
Hell, Red Dawn included it!

•In 1929 the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, approximately 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, wererounded up and exterminated.

•In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

•Germany established Gun control in 1938. From 1939 to 1945 13 million Jews, gypsies, homosexuals, mentally ill and others, who were unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

•China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

•Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

•Cambodia established gun control in 1956. From 1975 to 1977, one million “educated” people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

This places the total victims who lost their lives because of gun control at approximately 56 million in the last century. Since we should learn from the mistakes of history, the next time someone talks in favor of gun control, find out which group of citizens they wish to have exterminated.

Intersting times we live in...

So...They want to know who is a member of an association of people who believe in the Second Amendment and its free expression of gun ownership and the promotion of shooting sports???

And what do you think they want to do with this information???

Is my “Life” membership, with this organization, public knowledge anyway???

Do I care if a liberal wants everyone to know, or in this case their state government wants to know how many New Jersey citizens are members???

Again, what do they think they are going to do (if it is passed) in this age of political and governmental intrusive behavior...Embarrass members of this organization by shining their version of the light of truth on its members??? hehehe, that light has been on for many. many years...Next???

Seems to me that “new” governor might shoot this one down, pardon the pun...

I don’t know how solid he is on the Second Amendment and organizations that support and promote that issue...

They’re biting off bigger and bigger pieces as we go forward and no one is actually challenging them.

Where’s the tipping point?

Any chance this broad will introduce legislation which would require persons in New Jersey illegally to have their names and adddress sent to the government?

The talkingheads continue to urge calm, non-violent solutions.

The second amendment, IMO, is a *threat* of violence to prevent tyranny.

I say it’s time to remind them who’s really in charge. An organized *show of force* if you will.

You may be right...But they’ll continue to peck away at us till it does cause someone to react...They won’t like it, and we probably won’t either...

What is sad, is it may have to take our side getting a bloody nose before “it’s on”...

Tyrrany will more than likely have to make the first definetive move before we’d be publically and politically justified in our reaction...

I think that stinks, but it may be the only way...

Let’s just hope they don’t go that far...I think we can afford to keep pecking back at their attempts to deprive us of this moral and unalienable right...We’ve been doing ok so far, even though they are being rather crase in their attempts...Our reaction is predictable...And justified to this point...
