President Barack Obama said Friday that some members of Congress should share the blame for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
In an exclusive one-on-one interview with POLITICO, the president said: I think its fair to say, if six months ago, before this spill had happened, I had gone up to Congress and I had said we need to crack down a lot harder on oil companies and we need to spend more money on technology to respond in case of a catastrophic spill, there are folks up there, who will not be named, who would have said this is classic, big-government overregulation and wasteful spending.
The president also implied that anti-big government types such as Tea Party activists were being hypocritical on the issue.
Some of the same folks who have been hollering and saying do something are the same folks who, just two or three months ago, were suggesting that government needs to stop doing so much, Obama said. Some of the same people who are saying the president needs to show leadership and solve this problem are some of the same folks who, just a few months ago, were saying this guy is trying to engineer a takeover of our society through the federal government that is going to restrict our freedoms.

I agree, never thought I would see this twice in one life time!
The Buck stops here, he says. But now he’s trying to lay the blame on those in Congress that would oppose him. More divisive rhetoric. He should know better. He shouldn’t be acting like a toddler.
Doesn’t the campaign ever stop?
Everyone shares the blame EXCEPT FOR the guy who said “the buck stops with me”.
At first I thought Obama was the second coming of Carter... I was wrong... he is the second coming of Bart Simpson.
This statement by Obama is laughable, even by Messiah standards.
Reading the crap that comes out of this ass's mouth is making feel like this guy...
Does his I.Q. ever increase?
Hey Barry, Monday morning Quarterbacking doesn’t cut it.
So far as blundering by Presidential administrations go, this has gone WAY beyond Katrina, and is approaching the total incompetence associated with the US Iranian hostage situation.
First setting up the conditions for failure, then sending an inadequate extraction team, which was fumbled badly and called off, then the abject admissions of failure and ensuing apology tour.
But then, what we now have in the Oval Office is not an administration, in the accepted sense of the word, but a regime.
Don’t expect very much from them, because you surely aren’t going to get much.
He could of passed any thing he wanted to in congress, as the democrats are in control... This tar baby whines about every thing..
Yeah, and if a frog had wings, he wouldn’t bump his butt.
And if Obama had done his job with MMS, BP might have been more regulated.
Let’s face it folks, it doesn’t matter what happens, it will NEVER be Obama’s fault... in his mind anyway.
I wasn’t aware that the office of US President had become the office of Blame Allocation.
Leaders lead.
Those who can’t look for who to blame.
This clown has done more to hurt race relations than anyone in recent memory. Blacks will be forever linked to this failure and that’s not fair.
Six months ago, it was a democRAT controlled house, senate and white hut.
LOL...IT’S STILL YOUR PROBLEM and everyday that goes by makes you look more impotent.
What they left out the twitter he sent out today asking people ‘to stand with me for clean energy?’
He said he can’t
‘SUCK IT UP WITH A STRAW’
Bwahahahaha
Are unions impeding oil cleanup efforts in the Gulf of Mexico?

President Obama is impeding clean-up efforts in the Gulf by kowtowing to unions and members of the American maritime industry, critics have charged in recent days. At issue is the presidents refusal to waive the Jones Act, a century-old law that effectively bars foreign-owned ships from moving between U.S. ports, a necessary component of participating in the cleanup effort.
When asked why President Obama hasnt waived the Jones Act which President Bush put on hold to facilitate Katrina rescue efforts White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said a suspension wasnt necessary.
Is our Media on vacation like Obama?
