Al-Fajr Media Centre announced that top Al Qaeda operative Osama bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Damjan Al-Dawsari had been killed in a drone attack in Nezai Narray near Angoor Adda in South Waziristan.

They had earlier reported the death of Al Qaeda’s third-ranking leader Mustafa Abu Al-Yazid.

Dawsari was killed when meeting in the house of Omar Khaitab, a close associate of militant commander Maulvi Nazir.

Osama bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Damjan Al-Dawsari was born in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was of the Dawsari tribe, one of the 6 most influential and wealthy tribes in Saudi Arabia.

He was a conduit for Saudi oil-wealth to Al Qaeda and the Taliban, estimated in total to be about $800 million a year in "charitable" donations through Saudi operatives like him.

He will be replaced, but his presence confirms the deep involvement of Saudi royals and wealthy Saudi's in al qaeda.

Per the report, he was deeply involved with Maulvi Nazir, commander of about 3,000 Taliban in Wana, S Waziristan.

Nazir has been highly favored by the Pakistani military and was instrumental in their assault against Yuldashev's Chechen fighters. Nazir, with Saudi money, has been buying up a lot of land "abandoned" by Chechen settlers who "chose" to leave S Waziristan when that happened.

For the Pakistanis to now be cooperating on this level of targeting indicates an important change against al qaeda.

There are no coincidences in Pakistan. They are starting?? to join the fight.

At what point will the AQ #2 refuse a promotion? Haha. Keep cutting off the head. Make sure that particular position is a dangerous one.

Yup, the jihadist of the month club.

We have killed off most of the first tier founders of al qaeda. This operative belongs to the second and third tier of wealthy and educated Saudi-bin Laden wannabees, looking for a sense of purpose in their often useless lives.

There are many of them and until we stop financing the Saudi's, there will be no end to the jihadist war.

Thanks to Obama ruling out intensive interrogation, we now just choose to exterminate al qaeda operatives instead of capturing them.

In both this hit and the hit on Sheikh Said, the 6th #3 in al qaeda we've killed, we could have captured them, as they were in isolated compounds and we knew the importance of their knowledge of al qaeda.

Perhaps we're learning enough about al qaeda/taliban anyway?

So while Bambi runs this by remote control, how much intel are we losing by not being able to interrogate these AQ “top” leaders?

I’m not so quick to celebrate these drone attacks. We could be getting a lot of intel if we captured them & still allowed the CIA interrogators to deal with them.

Al-Fajr Media Center has official contractual partnerships with the As-Sahab Media Foundation, Al-Qaida's "Islamic State of Iraq" (ISI), Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (Yemen), Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM), Ansar al-Islam in Iraq, and the Islam Awazi Information Center (the media wing of the Turkestan Islamic Party).

They are considered very reliable and are reported through SITE and NEFA.

They are solid and have never announced "martyrdoms" in error.

No question that we are missing out on important intelligence and could likely find bin Laden and Zawahiri sooner.

In fact, we already hesitated on Zawahiri's potential capture and missed him, got his wife instead several years ago.

Obama figures that "dead men tell no tales" that would be politically uncomfortable for him.

Osama bin Ali bin Abdullah bin Damjan Al-Dawsari

Apparently, he dropped 'rama-lama-ding-dong' from his name because it wouldn't fit on his alQuaeda membership card.

Does that name fit on the census form?

There needs to be serious discussion regarding what “top” means. These guys are the equivalent of hitler youth platoon leaders or jihad boy scout masters. The real string pullers are eating peeled grapes and giving orders via encrypted satellite phone, next to a pool in the posh suburbs of the middle east reserved for the super wealthy. Take them out along with their underground garages full of Rolls-Royces and you'll actually start to address the problem.
