She was apparently beaten so badly with the baseball bat that she lost one of her eyeballs.
It is doubtful that in May 2005 when JVDS was only 17 years-old - the 18 year-old Natalee (or anyone else) could have realized that a such a young man was living a life of utter depravity with the indulgent approval and financial support of his *judge* father.
A dilemma for any parent raising children to be decent, honest and trustworthy is how to caution them that others are not always decent, honest and trustworthy. We naturally expect people to be *like us*.
Psychopaths are generally charming frauds and hard to spot until it’s too late. e.g. Ted Bundy.

Mark Fuhrman was just on Fox - stating the *murder weapon* was quite an innocent object. Did not say it was a baseball bat or a tennis racquet. Not much new information and his time-line on *time of death* was paving the way for JVDS to say: “the door was open and she was alive when I left”.
If he gets away with another murder - we will all go nuts.

Trouble is, when you’re drunk or high, you’ll do a lot of things you wouldn’t ordinarily do. You throw caution to the wind because, hell, that fella (or gal) next to you looks good. He/she might not look so good in the sober light of day, but at that moment, you think that person is the most gorgeous creature on earth.
It’s never smart to be alone with someone you don’t know, particularly when you’ve only met maybe an hour or so earlier. In fact, you probably shouldn’t let yourself get so drunk or high in the first place.

20 years wouldn’t be nearly long enough. He’d be in his 40s when he got out. Still lots of time to go back to his old ways.
Life without parole would be so much preferable. He should rot in prison.

It has been reported that after he left the hotel, he took Stephany’s car and later abandoned it. In it, they found date-rape drugs.
I’m assuming that’s how he got her to go to his room with him. Scary.
Say, this is OT, but did you hear anything about there being a rumor that Stacy Peterson's body has been located, but that this information has not yet been publically released?
It was a stray comment I read at WS this morning, that all the crime reportes MIGHT be doing double-duty very soon, and there also are a number of other tragic & unresolved cases that may suddenly break wide open.

You may be right. I didn’t think of that (date rape drugs).
And I didn’t mean to judge Natalee’s or Stephany’s decisions or actions in this matter. I just know how these things often play out. It’s part of the reason why I don’t drink anymore.
I didn’t hear that story about Peterson, but it would be good if it’s true. Another scumbag off the street, and it might be good for her family to know for sure what happened. Lethal injection is too good for him.

I read ABOUT this interview, I didn't read the article itself if there is one, or hear the interview if it was broadcast.
In any event, Stepany's ex-girlfriend apparently was more shocked by the location of the murder than the murder itself.
Also there was some chatter at WS today that many of the South American chatboards are filled with men proclaiming there is NO way she should have been with Joran at 2 am at his hotel - NO way, evidentally they are really furious with her.
That makes sense;)
I’ve read that people who’ve viewed the surveillance camera footage of Stepany at Joran’s hotel state that she does NOT look at all disoriented, that she looks fine.
