Seriously, I don't get it. I see so many anti-Israel and anti-Semitic posts on the internet. Why not love our only real ally in the middle east?
Allow me to explain. "All in" is a poker expression. Look it up. "All out" would be fully out of the jewhater-closet. Both are fairly desperate, burn-the-bridges positions.

There’s one more point on the US side. A Libertarian friend of mine(and Ron Paul supporter) is also anti-Israel. He claims they secretly run our government, financial institutions etc.
Including modern Israel which was founded by socialists, hosts work communes, has free healthcare, high taxes, and a big bossy government with a lot of weapons and a lust for neighboring land. Many Muslims are politically conservative so it's not just socialism driving it, although leftist envy is a big part of it.

No, the question to which you refer was “Why should we love Israel”. As for the second elephant in the living room question “Why some do people offer Israel their unconditional love” has pretty much been answered throughout this thread.

A Jew-hater, Israel-hater -- they're basically a "God-hater" ... because God takes Israel to be the head nation and the "ruling nation" over all other nations in the world, at the time of the one-world government -- during which time the Messiah of Israel rules from Israel.
If that's what he is (Jew-hater, Israel-hater) ... he's a "God-hater" ... because that's what the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is going to do wtih Israel (something I'm sure your friend will hate to hear ... LOL ...).

Some people do hate Israel, but I don’t think that’s what’s going on with many. Israel had much of the world’s sympathy during the Six Day War (1967) and the Yom Kippur War (1973).
But in the years following, the phenomenon of white guilt began to infect many Euros, Americans, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders, etc. Many groups that were minorities in the white majority nations began to acquire the much treasured and valuable victim status. And during the past thirty or so years, the so-called Palestinians also acquired victim status and the Israelis no longer looked like the tiny nation fighting for survival against many hostile nations.
Now Israel is a powerful nation that has won several military victories, and the Palestinians are an unsuccessful group that spends much of its time baiting Israel and seeking international sympathy. And sympathy for all recognized victim groups is a religious requirement for the left all over the world, especially the guilt-ridden, white leftist.
Plus, the rise of Islamic fundamentalism and hostility toward all things non-Muslim has also made things worse. It’s a combination of old antisemitism and the recently acquired victim status of the so-called Palestinians.
Maybe the better question is why people think we should “love” Israel?
Because we love the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the Messiah of Israel, whom God has sent. And because God has chosen Israel as the head nation over all the other nations of the world, in His one-world government, in which the Messiah of Israel will be ruling, as the King of the world, over all the other nations of the world, from Israel, seated at the Throne of David, in Jerusalem. ... :-) ...
Of course, those who don't love the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, will not be likely to love Israel ... [although I imagine some will, anyway, because they see it as "popular" with some in their "circle of friendships" -- whether they really realize why or not...]

And as long as we got good disagreements going on here, we might as well address another thing, the guys like Pat Buchannon who are “conservative”, in a sense.
Some go terribly askew when they address the fighting of socialism. (they talk about how Hitler was trying to fight communists,, how Patton should have joined Nazis to invade the USSR, etc) It leads them to strangely sympathize with Nazi Germany,,, blame Jews for communism,,, and to hate israel now.
