Very interesting.

Not sure, but most likely.
I didn’t realize we were going to be treated to the three stooges trying to untangle hoses tonight. I now dub these three ROVs Larry Moe and Curly.
Royal Wulff...your the one...you are the one that started
FUMBLES. Don’t try to deny it. I checked. Yea, your him alright.
Amen.
I think the DPT number in the upper left corner is the depth it has started to move
The radial surface is the surface at a constant radius around the flange, not on top of it.
Fumbles Four-Fingers
Har har har oh that’s too funny!.....lolrotf
I’m wondering if the same operator of the shear is also lowering the cap. If it is, they’ve had a long day!
I’m thinking one hose with a manifold on top of the cap.
Are you speaking of the narrow margin around the top surface of the flange outside the bolt heads or the flange curved transition above the bolt heads?
No the vertical surface of the flange.
This thread has been such a ridiculously wild ride that I am truly hoping it ends on a good note. I am sweating and getting tense over this , not because I actually feel we are really killing our Gulf Coast-not to by any means trivialize the environmental damage of this but the scientists predicting all the destruction mamage to underestimate so much Gaea/Earth’s resilience and ability to adapt to outside changes-but because a serious failure will mean a gushing, pun intended, of self righteousness from Earth Day activists and govt followers. And many of us will spend days getting severely ill. That;s why I dont know how I am even gonna get an hour of real sleep until I know the outcome.
Gotcha, in that case it should work.(maybe)
They need to attach little floats to the hoses. Then they’ll rise safely out of the way.
Oh, duh! They’re waiting on Shep Smith’s show to end again.
I can see a black flange around the bottom perimeter of the cap now.
Shep is hoping for the capping during his show.
I’d be willing to bet they lowered this cap on a mock-up of this BOP flange assembly topside to expose any issues, and then corrected them accordingly. But as we all know, **** happens.
Looks to me like they’ve attached “grab wires” to the hoses... so, the robot can safely grab them and pull them up, out of the way..
They’ve also added riser pipes on the top, which appear to me to have no other purpose than, to loop the guide wires.... to hold the hoses clear..
At least, that’s the way I see it..
Yep, I agree with you on the one hose.
