Very interesting.

Amen
something tells me we’ve got a while to wait before the main event
They brought the power unit and the cap down, and then brought the hoses down. They have been connecting them for the last couple hours. Now they are moving them out of the way.
Apparently the sole purpose of several of the robots
is just to hold the freeking hoses out of the way...
” DANGER...DANGER, WILL ROBINSON...”
Amen.
I remember when they started working on the head last night. There weren’t any hoses on it. They have attached all of them since it was on the bottom. The cap is now 70 feet closer to the surface than when it was on the bottom so of course there would be slack to pick up.

I think before they make their move, there will be a pause
for a final inspection of all of the components.
But what the heck do I know?
Looks like an rov tether is wrapped up in the BOP equipment on Enterprise 2.
OK, I had to first ask forgiveness for looking at post 810 a little too long. Now I can respond to your prayer.....Amen.
wife is forcing me to go pick up some garage sale gem she just bought - good luck with this project boys and girls - back later
It looks like it.
I am actually shocked that they have not gotten the ROVs tethers, all the cables, and all the hoses tangled any more than they have to be honest.
it is Fumbles Jr that is tangled. He is sitting there with an arm full of blue cables and can't get free to take them up to the power cart.
They grab a hammer and give it a whack...grab a hack saw and cut off the bolts...go into one of those oily boxes on the shelf and grab a bolt and keep trying till they find the right one....
All those little maneuvers ON LAND and with normal size parts are NOTHING COMPARED TO WHAT BP IS DOING DOWN THERE....
We lovingly thank AND PAY our auto mechanic...Surely BP deserves some praise for this effort rather than the "boot on ther throat" attitude of our ah president.
Thanks... I didn't know that. I kept hearing in "the news" that they needed a clean cut... from what you're saying, it didn't really matter? Just needed to get the pipes out of the way?
Venting on the cap...is that methanol?
Basically, yes. There are two caps. One requires a nice round riser pipe stub. They would have used that one if the diamond saw would have worked.
Just curious, how does the seal work on the radial surface when there are all those bolt heads in the way? Or am I confused?
