Very interesting.
(Excerpt) Read more at bp.com ...
Just downloaded a screen recorder. Got to have a video of this maneuver.
Ithink the pressure is lower based on what I see, but what do I know??
Godiva was a lady who through Coventry did ride.
Showing all the villagers her lily white hide.
The most observant man of all, an engineer of course.
Was the only one who noticed that Godiva rode a horse!
We are, we are, we are the engineers
We can, we can, we can drink all of 40 beers
I think we are getting close, all the ROVs down there are congregating around the LMRP CAP.
They all have tickets to the Robot merry go round, and one they grab on it is gonna be an E-TICKET RIDE! (yes I just dated myself)
Imagine a design that didn’t have a bunch of lose cables dangling below the business end of the cap.
At least they have moved and hung the other 2 or 3 thousand that were hanging from it earlier. LOL
Well like said before, very few of us are experts here, though so many people mysteriously became experts on mechanical engineering in mile deep water when this happened. I was thinking that if the pressure was not that high that at least eliminates option 5 from the above list from happening. And any of options 2 through 4 would be fixable if it happened. Of course, it would not happen instantly and that would create more of the same problems we have already seen.
time for duct tape!
This is like knot theory in topology.
What they are trying to do might me mathematically impossible.
Unless they were attached in the correct order so they could be untangled at the bottom, it’s a no go.
Children trained for 1000s of hours on video games and grew up to do this - and shoot missiles from drones to kill Al Quedas.
Lord I pray to you know that you grant these engineers and deep sea workers the wisdom to solve the LMRP problem and deal with any problems or setbacks that occur when sealing the leak. Pray you grant them knowledge and guide them as they attempt to overcome their difficulties and with their success getting self-proclaimed experts and alarmist scientists and advocates of govt monopoly on energy to shut their mouths and quit tarring these people as murderers. We pray all this in Jesus’s name, Amen.
It's the Internet. Everyone can be an instant genius and insightful commentator!!
No 4 year engineering degree and 20 years experience? No problem...
With the Internet, anyone who visits the Home Depot plumbing department once a month surely has a better solution than industry experts!!
Sorry for my sarcasm.
I get tired of the people who are second guessing the people on site, who are busting their butts trying to fix this.
amen
Duct tape those frigging Aeroquip hoses to the upright tube and let’s get rolling..........
Amen.
Amen
Amen
