Very interesting.

No, they probably have live updates and group hugging sessions as the carcasses wash ashore, whether from natural causes or from the oil.
>>So you mean the seal and its cap was blown off already ?
No, just the perspective is interesting. I’m watching all 12 video feeds at one time, and one of them shows the oil plume gushing upwards, while in the distance you can see the cap being brought towards the action.
I’m having flash backs to 1969 with the first moon landing. Video about the same and cap looks the same as the lunar lander.
ROVS are starting to pull the blue lines up and secure them to the cap now.
The cap ain’t going nowhere as it probably is partially loaded with seawater. It can’t be totally loaded as it would be heavier than the oil and it would go out the bottom.
“Any one making predictions?
1. That it is successful - works and captures most of the oil.”
-
I’m thinking positive - I pick #1.
Even Fox is in on the assinine hysteria, they are breathlessly reporting over 500 dead birds this week -- and eek eek gasp gasp oh my god oh my god THIRTY EIGHT actually had OIL in them.
Let's see, how would that go?
Granola Eater: Look at that green stuff coming out! It must be killing millions of microbes!!
Wexler Fan: The peepal n charge of this messs shoud go to jail! We need more heerings!
Peacenik: 12,345 seabirds die every second that this evil monster leaks!! Someone needs to do something!!
WicanOne: Yeah! Send in the EPA!! They can fix it!!
Ok, that is good. Scared me for a moment there. But I still wonder if they are going too fast in all these procedures. We’ll probably never really know.
I’m hoping number 1 but leaning towards number 4. Hope I’m wrong.
2, but I’ll pray for 1.
I too am hoping for #1 but I will settle for Miss Canada.
What was the question?
“...going too fast...”
-
Going too fast?
Ha.
That got a laugh out of me.
I have an untold # of hours sitting and watching it get this far.
LMAO
I don’t think the pressure differential between what is in the pipe and the pressure at that depth is very great at all. The pipe is already essentially open and the amount coming out is not that great the velocity is pretty slow indicating a relatively low pressure.
My (adult) daughter just stopped by.
She says “Dad have you moved away from watching this since I was over yesterday”
I keep waiting to hear Also Spracht Zarathustra (theme to 2001) start playing through the audio feeds.
I heard that the top kill was in part designed to determine how much pressure there is so they could determine if this method was feasible. The fact that they are already trying it presumably means that they discovered the pressure is managable for this to work. So I am also hoping for option 2 at this point, but it is so unpredictable that options 4 or even 5 are very real possibilities too.
I thought it was 2200 psi sea pressure and 13,000 psi oil pressure for a pretty big difference ??
