I don't usually make posts but had to get this information out to anyone living in the Keys or South Florida. ------------------------
On May 27, the first filament from the BP oil spill is seen approaching the Florida coast.
The leading edge is approximately 20 miles west of the Dry Tortugas in the Florida Keys.
Surface currents in the Loop Current travel between 1 and 3 miles per hour, or 25 to 75 miles a day.

Is this for real? Oil to hit Fla Keys? If true the stakes just got alot higher. Obummer probably does not give a damn about La, Miss, Al or Texas but Fla is an entirely different story.

Do you know if most of this is going to stay away from the Tampa Bay area... we’re not part of the loop currents - but...

FOX news ticker says the Press is complaining because access to document the oil spill is restricted. And BP is NOT doing the restricting. I guess that just leaves...Obama. I guess that's how he's going to "take care of it" - by shutting down the flow - OF INFORMATION...

You mean bad? A picture of a dead bird (or a polar bear on a ice floe) means nothing. It is a symbol designed to elicit an emotional response. If you have numbers or pictures of the soiled beaches, post those instead. I am done with emotionalism in this issue and all others.

So that puts the Deepwater Horizon spill on a category spill equivalent to the 1972 Sea Star which lost 115,000 tonnes of oil. Problem is the Deepwater Horizon is still losing oil and will no doubt pass the next worst spill the Torry Canyon in 1967 which lost 119,000 tonnes. Thanks for the info!

The barrels per day seems to be hard to nail down, went from 1k to 5k to 12k-19k. I am using 20k, other use 70k. Nobody really knows. But I use the upper range of the Gov PB estimate since I do not believe either the gov or BP.
Ironic that Obama is being humbled by British Petroleum isn't it?

CNN reported that BO was busy at a barbeque today and in the afternoon, he was at the University of Chicago shooting hoops. I'm surprised the suck-ups at CNN didn't cover for him... they're losing their edge.
