So that puts the Deepwater Horizon spill on a category spill equivalent to the 1972 Sea Star which lost 115,000 tonnes of oil. Problem is the Deepwater Horizon is still losing oil and will no doubt pass the next worst spill the Torry Canyon in 1967 which lost 119,000 tonnes. Thanks for the info!
The barrels per day seems to be hard to nail down, went from 1k to 5k to 12k-19k. I am using 20k, other use 70k. Nobody really knows. But I use the upper range of the Gov PB estimate since I do not believe either the gov or BP.
Ironic that Obama is being humbled by British Petroleum isn't it?
