I don't usually make posts but had to get this information out to anyone living in the Keys or South Florida. ------------------------

On May 27, the first filament from the BP oil spill is seen approaching the Florida coast.

The leading edge is approximately 20 miles west of the Dry Tortugas in the Florida Keys.

Surface currents in the Loop Current travel between 1 and 3 miles per hour, or 25 to 75 miles a day.

Someone posted a report on FR several weeks back which had a graph which showed the spillage comparisons of the Deepwater Horizon to the Valdez. At that time the Deepwater spillage was just a small amount compared to the Valdez. Now it has supposedly surpassed the Valdez and I was interested in whether it has passed the 1972 Sea Star, The 1967 Torrey Canyon or the 1988 Odyssey. The graph shows the amount of spillage in Tonnes. 7.2 Barrels of oil is equal to (1) tonne. The Valdez spill was equal to 37,000 tonnes. I guess the Deepwater Horizon is more than 37,000 tonnes.

Estimates of BP and other scientists range from between 5,000 to 100,000 barrels a day. BP says they are capturing significant amounts of it, but I think they are just kidding about that.

What I want to know is how many gallons/barrels or whatever went into the drink during WW2. How many ships were sunk, planes downed, tankers bombed? And who can tell us what the long term results were?

Huge amounts. Especially in ports.

Long term results:

The Earth Abides.

My point, exactly. We just didn’t have the greenies pouring shame, blame, and guilt all over us back then.

Of course I’ve been saying all along where’s the pictures of the dead dolphins, 200 turtles, fish, birds. So far maybe we’ve seen 10 birds, if that many.

Here's your dead dolphin

Here's your dead cat

Oil spill, road kill, hey they rhyme.
