Clinton rips 'birthers' By: Andy Barr May 24, 2010 01:52 PM EDT
Former President Bill Clinton is taking the so-called birthers to task for ignoring evidence that President Barack Obama was born in the United States.
Clinton made the comments during a commencement address at Yale University on Sunday as part of a critique of American media consumption habits.
The only place where were bigoted now is we only want to be around people who agree with us, Clinton said. In our media habits, we go to the television shows, we go to the radio talk shows we go to the blog sites that agree with us. And it can have very bizarre consequences.
The former president pointed to the birthers an example of one of those bizarre consequences.
Hawaii, the state where President Obama was born, has done everything they can to debunk this myth that he wasnt born in America, Clinton said. Theyve done everything but blow up his birth certificate, put it in neon lights and hang it on the dome in the Capitol.
But 45 percent of registered Republicans still believe that he is serving unconstitutionally, Clinton insisted, though he did not identify the poll.
Why? he asked. Because theyve been told that by the only place they go to get information.

Scary is that Ann Coulter, Glenn Beck, Andrew Breitbart, Bill O’Reilly, and some others agree with BJC on this one....trashing the Birthers.
Like the critics of the AZ SB 1070....they have not read the Obama Long Form Birth Certificate.....
Vintage Clinton. Half-truths & outright lies.
But there’s a certain amount of misdirection going on here. The beauty is that just mentioning Barry’s citizenship problem — even while ridiculing the “birthers” — puts the issue out in the open. Barry Soetero is probably seething today.

Not any more. At one time that was true, anyone could get a copy of your BC, but ostensibly due to "identity theft", it's not so easy these days.

Personally I think all that should become public the minute your name goes on the ballot, even in a primary.

No, I am suggesting that the “long form” does not say who his father was, that it was say he was illegitimate. I am advancing this only as a possibility. Wherever he was born, the document does not fit the narrative. Ditto the other documentation he is concealing. My impression is that this man has invented a life story and is depending on his powerful friends to cover this up. IAC, whether this man was born on American soil or not, he has little in common with the “ordinary” American, even with someone like Willaim Ayres. he is not an American “type.” Compare him with Alger Hiss, for instance. Or George McGovern. or any black civil rights leader, even the Rev. Wright. He is “strange. An Auslander.
PING
I suspect that Democrats try to subtly troll the "birthers" to get them stirred up so that they're more visible and thus more effective at making conservatives in general look silly.
