Since last Tuesday, its been morning after week for Kentucky Senate Republican candidate Rand Paul. While he recorded interviews at NPR and The OReilly Factor today, he didnt waste any time booking himself for the toughest interview he could find. Tonight, that interview was on The Rachel Maddow Show. Dont be deceived by the lack of shouting this was by far the most heated exchange of the night across cable news.
It wasnt the first time Paul was on the program in fact, he had announced his candidate for Kentucky Senate on The Rachel Maddow Show months before. But last nights interview was almost like a science experiment: put two of the most ideologically pure people in the politi-media world together to challenge each other on one of the issues they each care about the most. For Paul, that issue is the rights of the individual and the danger of the federal government stepping over them. For Rachel Maddow, the issue is institutional discrimination and the moral obligation to abolish it. That, at least, is how each one of them saw the respective problems and successes of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, which Paul had been coming under attack for allegedly opposing.

Economics has a way of punishing racial discrimination.
Read some Sowell.
On the other hand, leaving race out of the question, do you believe someone’s right to eat in any restaurant they choose trumps the restaurant’s owner’s right to free association?
Can you say 'Photoshop'?
Their goal is to paint Rand Paul as part of the loony fringe. And if he keeps straying into hard core Libertarian theories then they'll succeed. If Paul just sticks with the issues that got him the nomination - smaller government, out of control spending, reigning in entitlements - then he'll be Senator Paul come January. If he gets off into 'pull out of Afghanistan now' and 'the Civil Rights Act hurts business' then he's giving his opponents the ammunition they need to possible win the seat.
MadCow is just going for publicity, trying to scrape up an audience...which she clearly lacks.
So if she is willing to “go back” 46 years to question Rand Paul maybe she can have Sen. Robert Byrd on and “go back” 64 years and ask him about any organizations to which he belonged.
Just go on and expose the Brainwashed mind manipulators! They would never have a person like that on again.
“On the other hand, leaving race out of the question, do you believe someones right to eat in any restaurant they choose trumps the restaurants owners right to free association?”
Liberal’s do! To them, forced “diversity” is more important than individual rights - every single time.
Here is my issue with all this “diversity” crap: by letting groups of people cling to their “diversity” by using the claims of their ....(heritage, color, creed, origin, plight, etc...) they are effectively DISASSEMBLING our MELT POT! They are saying that each of these groups get to keep their own characteristics, but everyone else - NO, the Anglo-Americans - have to take on and learn the traits and characteristics of everyone else!
As Roosevelt said in 1907 - come here, but become Americans! Any half-allegiance to somewhere else is NO allegiance to America! We have ONE flag - American! We have ONE language - English! Either get behind those, or go somewhere else!
In this day and age, the liberals want the freaking water (AND THE METAL POT) to take on the flavors of all the meat and vegetables of this American stew, but allow each one of the ingredients to keep ALL of their own taste, flavor, characteristics, etc... All I can say is that this kind of stew tastes like SH!T!!!!
“Both of them?”
Well, you know the saying amongst liberals, “...you tell two friends, and I’ll two friends and they’ll tell two friends, and...”
Well, now that I think about it, that’s about as a big a circle of friends most of the liberals that watch this show have, so you are right. Never mind!
Forced “diversity” and multiculturalism have but one aim -
destroying the culture and traditions that this country was founded on.
Maddow, a recipient of the acclaimed Lesbian of the Year Award, Digs In On Charges Rand Paul Would Have Opposed Civil Rights Act
According to wiki, Maddow first met her lesbian partner when she applied for a job to do her yard work...giving a whole new meaning to “Splendor in the Grass.”

And where exactly did it lead?
“So, this gross inequity needed to be addressed sooner than later for sure.”
Well, we have come full circle in a f’ed-up parallel universe or something! Because there are parts of every major city in America where anglo-Americans could not step foot into a restaurant without fear of mortal danger! I don’t see the Mayors, Governors nor the President FORCING the anglo-American “diversity” on these streets - do you?
I believe THIS is the issue with which Rand Paul takes when he expresses concerns with the outcome of the Civil Rights bill. It reminds me of the difference between charity and forced charity: forced charity is an oxymoron!
By FORCING these changes in the manner which they have been done, I believe, it CREATED a great deal of the bigotry that exists today! I am a bitter bigot in so aspects - my daughter worked her butt off, earned great grades, volunteered for our church, worked a part-time job and scored in the top 20% of both SAT and graduating seniors - but had to got to a smaller, lesser college because someone else (who had the EXACT SAME opportunities as my daughter) got her scholarship - all in the name of “diversity!”
Yeah, I am rather bigoted about the entire situation!
See post #52!
The Oligarchy is desperately looking for the KKK White sheets amongst the Tea Party....problem is ...the only real and legitimate “White Sheets” they’ll find to day..are in the mirror....
I think it’s courageous of Paul (and I’m not entirely sold on him). As long as our guys go on there and FIGHT, then bravo RP.
Hey now! Rachel is a handsome young man.
I don’t have any issues with Rand Paul either way but there is something to be said for having courage of one’s convictions.
Bullshit.
Is that your argument or the consistency of your brains?
You think I am the only person in America that has had this situation? Take a look around dumba$$! This is a whole new America!
This happens EVERY single day! When I was a kid in school, I had a really good black friend of mine tell me to apply at the store where he worked. In 1985 - 1985 - I was told by a local store owner (who was black) that he doesn’t hire white people; he is trying to help his people! What the hell was wrong with that picture?
Did I file a lawsuit? Did I run to Uncle Sam and claim discrimination? Nope, I found a different job! I mean, do I really want to work for such an ignorant basterd? Look just because most anglo-Americans aren’t claiming racial discrimination at the top of their lungs, doesn’t mean it isn’t happening!
Please, go back to your world where everything is fine and dandy and the sugar plum fairies puts food and opportunities on your table. I will simply live here in the real world.
