SNIPPET: "Israel Air Force jets attacked three tunnels in the Gaza Strip in a joint Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet operation on Thursday night, several hours after a Qassam rocket hit the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council.
Two of the targets attacked were in the southern Strip and one was in the northern Strip. According to the IDF, terrorists were using the tunnels to try to infiltrate Israel.
The IDF Spokesperson's Office said the tunnels were located about 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) from the border fence and that the targets were hit. There have been no reports of injuries among the Palestinians."

“U.S. trying to deport ‘Son of Hamas’
Feds see ‘terrorist’ in Christian convert who spied for Israel”

SNIPPET: “The Department of Homeland Security is trying to deport the son of a Hamas founder who told of his conversion to Christianity and decade of spying for Israel in a New York Times best-seller.
“Son of Hamas” author Mosab Hassan Yousef revealed on a blog hosted by his publisher he is scheduled to appear June 30 before Immigration Judge Rico J. Bartolomei at the DHS Immigration Court in San Diego.
Yousef said the DHS informed him Feb. 23, 2009, he was barred from asylum in the U.S. because there were reasonable grounds for believing he was “a danger to the security of the United States” and “engaged in terrorist activity.”
An incredulous Yousef said the U.S. government’s belief he is a terrorist is based on a complete misinterpretation of passages of his book in which he describes his work as a counterterrorism agent for the Israeli internal intelligence service Shin Bet.”

“CAN I INTEREST YOU IN A HIZBALLAH-SUPPORTING SOCIAL NETWORK?”
SNIPPET: “Once upon a time there was a place called Lebanon. When Hizballah is done with it it’ll look a whole lot like Germany circa 1945. If Shiite expats in Montreal and elsewhere want to call that “victory” that’s their business.”
SNIPPET: “6. Wash, rinse, repeat. This is online counter-terrorism in the social-networking age.”

“Video: IAF Picks Off Three Terrorists”
by Gil Ronen and Tzvi Ben Gedalyahu
SNIPPET: “An Israel Air Force aircraft fired Tuesday afternoon at Arab terrorists from the Islamic Jihad group near Beit Lahya in Gaza, killing three of them. Video footage shows the terrorists’ last moments and the rockets that were launched in different directions as a result of the explosion from the IAF missile.
The attack was a response by the IAF to the firing of short range rockets at Israel yesterday and today. The rockets were fired by terrorists in Gaza, which is ruled by terror group Hamas and serves as a base from which Israeli civilians are attacked.”

Syrian Secrets Revealed From On High
The Strategy Page ^ | 6/2/2010 | The Strategy Page

In the last few months, Lebanese terror group Hezbollah appears to have received over a hundred M600 ballistic missiles from Syria. Now, after many people scoured Google Earth satellite photos of Syria and Lebanon, looking for the weapons, something particularly interesting was found in northern Syria, outside the town of Masyaf. Google Earth users noted five compounds, that appear to be closed to all but authorized personnel. Inside these compounds there appeared to be entrances to bunkers dug into adjacent hills. In 2003, Syrian sources reported that Iraqi chemical weapons were sent to Syria, and some were storied in bunkers near Masyaf. These bunkers are believed to hold other munitions, including missiles being shipped to Hezbollah facilities in Lebanon. There, hundreds of tunnels and bunkers are used for storing Hezbollah munitions, personnel and vehicles. Satellite and aerial photos have seen weapons being brought in and out of these tunnels. Syria denies providing Hezbollah with any weapons. The M600 missile is a copy of the Iranian Fateh which, in turn, is a copy of the Chinese DF-11A (which had a range of 400 kilometers). The M600 is a 8.86 meter (27.5 foot), 3.5 ton rocket with a half ton warhead. Range is about 250 kilometers. This might account for the reports, late last year, that Syria had provided Hezbollah with SCUD missiles. Both the M600 and SCUD are ballistic missiles, but the M600 is a more modern design. SCUD was developed from the German World War II era V-2.

4 rockets hit south
No injuries in latest Qassam attacks; local mayor: We hope not to see escalation soon
Shmulik Hadad
Published: 06.03.10, 23:27 / Israel News
SNIPPET: Four Qassam rockets were fired from the Gaza Strip into Israel Thursday, causing no injuries.
One rocket was fired at Sderot Thursday evening prompting the Color Red alert to go off. The Qassam apparently exploded in an open area near the town.
Earlier in the evening, two rockets landed near the southern city of Ashkelon, while another rocket landed in the Ashkelon Beach region, near a kibbutz.
The two rockets near Ashkelon exploded around 9 pm in an open area south of the city. The anti-rocket alert was activated in facilities and factories in the citys southern industrial zone, prompting employees to take cover.
Ashkelon Mayor Benny Vaknin said that security officials asked him to maintain full alert ahead of the possible firing of Qassams and Grad missiles after the Gaza-bound flotilla left on its way to the Strip.
