My guess is that baseball is already facing enough financial challenges that it doesn’t need to deal with all the nonsense that comes when mixing sports with politics.
Once every 20 years it pays off to have a do-nothing commissioner.
It’s called America’s game. Piss off non-Americans.
No reason to thank Selig. He is the devil. His position is clearly money based. He’s a flaming lib except when his lib policies interfere with cash flow. He knows that the overwhelming majority of people who attend MLB are suburban familes who also support secure borders. He does not want to risk the suburban goose that lays the golden egg.
But make no mistake, for what Selig has done to baseball in his tenure, he is the devil.
