What you have to understand, and those from WV can vouch for this...virtually EVERYONE in WV runs as a Democrat, regardless of their actual political convictions.
The “D” by the name means nothing. Traditionally, very few run as anything other than Democrat.
For example, today, when I voted in the primary, of course, I got a Republican primary ballot.
It had only about three or four names on it. So, in many cases, the primary IS the election, because no one runs in the other parties.
Of course, I’m not saying what Oliverio will do with regard to Pelosi. But, he is a traditional, conservative Catholic Italian from northern WV. Just having a candidate come out and publicly espouse limited government and take the place of Mollohan is a victory. As I said, this is a huge deal.
Who is he?
Is he GOP, DIMRAT, RINO, TOAD, ALIEN ET??? WHAT?
What are the implications at this stage locally and nationally?
Not only has defeated incumbent Alan Mollohan been in Congress for 28 years, but his father had represented it for 14 before that. In other words, it’s been electing the name Mollohan for the past 42 years, and now the DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY was won by someone who called for repealing Health Care Reform and openly courted Tea Party members. This is huge!
This is horrible news. Olivera is going to be hard to beat in WVa. Moolohan lost because hes corrupt, and now McKinley, who got 14000 votes to Olivero's 37000, is in for a tough race. Advantage Democraps
There, fixed it.
Any one keeping a list of the incumbents that are “retired” or retiring?
“Is there really such an animal as a DINO or a “blue dog” anymore in Washington? My take is that this current Pelosi-Reid Congress proves that the species is extinct. “
Correct. The only good Democrat is an out-of-office Democrat.
You might want to develop your search skills. A simple search of the candidates name would tell you where he is from, what district he represents, and what party he belongs to. Its really simple, and when you are done, you will be a better informed citizen.
A simple search? I looked all over my desk and can’t find a thing. Coould you be more specific. Use pictures please,
How has the ‘conservative Dem’ vote worked out so far? Get rid of ALL Dems in Nov.
Ditto.
CNN doesn’t even have a headline or a little sentence about it on their site!
ROFLOL
This was one of Sarah’s targets as I remember.
good point about the ease of search — but I must add that it’s (imho) always a more useful thread when there is some basic info presented right up front.
For all of us who don’t *live* online we are often scanning over many different headlines and threads rapidly, on FR and other sites, and the posters here who provide a little info to indicate why the topic of a thread matters are greatly appreciated.
I happened to be well aware of who the bozo Mollohan is so it didn’t affect me in this case, but I think it’s desirable for all FR threads to provide some initial info b/c few of us want to do searches on every topic represented every day on FR.
Mississippi's 4th district 'conservative' conman voted for Pelosi as speaker. There ain't no such thing as conservative democrat.
But it is good to see a corrupt dem lose the nomination.
Gotta call BS on you. The person who opened the thread had a responsibility to post what state and district, who these people are, and a little background on the race.
If the reader is curious to know more than that, then yes, the reader can do his own research at that point. It’s totally unreasonable to expect that at the outset of the thread. There is no excuse for the sloppiness the opening poster demonstrated.
It sounds like Mollohan wouldn’t step down so the rat machine put him down. They figure one of their phony, self-proclaimed “blue dogs” can hold the seat. I expect the morons in WV will buy it hook, line and sinker.
Under every article in the “Topics” category is a listing of where an article is from. In this case it says: “US: West Virginia”. So if it is not in the title, you can always glance there to check origin. But I think it is better for the poster to include the location it in the title.
