Poll: Obama has Lost Almost Half of his US Jewish Support

United States President Barack Obama has lost nearly half of his support among American Jews, a poll by the McLaughlin Group has shown.

The US Jews polled were asked whether they would: (a) vote to re-elect Obama, or (b) consider voting for someone else. 42% said they would vote for Obama and 46%, a plurality, preferred the second answer. 12% said they did not know or refused to answer.

That still leaves way too many American Jews who are suicidal. The Jews in this household know Obamao is the enemy.

Try talking to them. They have little to no idea what the Democrats are doing in DC. All they care is "their guys" are in charge. It the same sort of mindless loyalty to a political party that you see in sport fans. As long as "their team" is winning, what is going on is irrelevent.

A couple of points:

• There are many Republican backers who take exactly the same view. To some extent it's understandable. There are also, for better or worse, a lot of people who just don't have the interest to dive into politics. They pick a team (often the same one their parents had) and vote it once every other year.

• Why are the Dems the Jewish team? I think one reason is that the GOP was historically the party of the WASP elite in places in NY. As Jews rose in power they gravitated to use the available opposition party to contest with the WASP/GOP elite.

• Another theory holds that Jews remain uncomforatable with the idea of a strong majority White-Christian nation. There is a deep distrust that any any point the White-Christains could be wipped into a frenzy of anti-semitism, as has happened in Europe many times.

  Far better to see the White Christian majority reduced to just another minority tussling for spoils in a fully Balkanized USA.

Someone asked a rhetorical question: "Are you really willing to lose the country to people like Obama and La Raza because your grandfather the couldn't get into the right country club?"

America has been a great country for the Jews. Hopefully more of them start understanding that they *are* by and large "the establishment" now. Given this perhaps they can stop supporting the most destructive politicians and movements in our society.

It's a hope, and there are hopeful signs, like this article, but overall it still seems to be a dream.

I have five Jewish friends on my email list that I corresspond with regularly. Each resides in a different area of the Country. Four of them, at this point, are VEHEMENT over his treatment of Israel. The fifth is slowly beginning to feel that way also.

Eventually, with ALL Americans, Ohaha will eclipse Jimmy Carter 10-fold in regard to his UNPOPULARITY.

Actually I’m surprised there is any drop at all. Most of the Jewish-heritage people I know are not active in the synagogue, could care less about Israel, and will vote reflexively for Democrats every time. It really riles them when I proclaim myself an “honorary Zionist”.....

Needless to say many conservatives of the FreeRepublic persuasion aren't pleased by the poll. From which one shouldn't draw too many conclusions since Obama won't be on the ballot.

I only address these bigoted comments on FR, yes, I'm calling your comment bigoted, so that the normal people reading these threads can understand where stereotypes come from, and why they persist. I characterized that as a bigoted statement.

I stand by that. If the best you can offer as a proof is that the ACLU, Hollywood, and the trial lawyers are Jewish organizations, and anti-American, thus Jews are un-American, in the minds of most non Jew-obsessed rational individuals, it's an arguement you lose. Particularly in an electoral sense.

Force the Dem candidates to say where they agree, or disagree, with Obama.

At the very least, the Dem base will get frustrated at all the Dems backing off of “the One”
