Hate to break it to you, but Jewish people come in all walks of life. The janitor in my building is Jewish. A great “elder” in our shul is a school bus driver.
I’ve been to many a funeral where we had to chip in because there was no money for the casket.
I get up at 3:00am to start the washers at our dry cleaner and fixed many a broken pipe a washed many a vomit or poop-stained pair of pants that some slob dropped off for dry cleaning.
We’re not all rich. Not all lawyers and accountants.
Just people.

To focus on Israel, for example, 1 in 5 Jewish people live in poverty such that food assistance must be provided.
I went out to brunch with my family yesterday, and broched political subjects carefully. I am Messianic, and very right wing. My mom and Grandfather are Socalists, Dad less so, more Conservative on foriegn policy, brothers more twoard the middle.
It was maddening asking what they thought of the tyrant telling the world how many missles they have and hearing my parents say, “well how many do you need?” AGGGH!
Then my Grandfather told a story about the day FDR died and how a Fundementlaist said “thank god” and he wanted to kill the guy. I was about to say I agree with that guy.

This Lutheran-raised Country Girl just found out she’s Jewish; it’s kind of confusing to find this out when you’re nearing FIFTY!
