Somehow this is a shock? Part of the job of a Wait Person is to deliver the product the customer wants in a timely manner, graciously, politely and looking good while you do it only adds to the tip.

For the life of me, I keep thinking of that episode of Seinfeld where Elaine was trying to shut down a diner for discrimination because all the waitresses looked alike and had huge breasts. She filed a complaint with the EEOC and the found the guys from the EEOC were eating lunch there every day (for, um, investigative purposes, of course). Then, at the end of the episode she found out that the waitresses were all daughters of the owner.

You can even put up a sign - to which I would adhere - that says “Unenlightened Customers not Allowed.” And, yes, whenever we pay someone for doing something, we are the defacto “boss.” It’s called reality, dear.
