Sarah Palin: Let’s shake it up in California! (Sarah endorses Carly Fiorina - Huh?)
Facebook ^ | Sarah Palin

Posted on 05/06/2010 12:29:51 PM PDT by FightforFreedomCA

I’d like to tell you about a Commonsense Conservative running for office in California this year. She grew up in a modest home with a school teacher dad, worked her way through several colleges, and then entered an arena where few women had tread. Through a combination of hard work, perseverance, and common sense, she proved the naysayers wrong to reach the top of her field, where she led with distinction – facing hard truths, making tough decisions, and showing real leadership through a rocky transition period. Where others had failed, her company had weathered the storm and settled on a stronger new foundation.

Her name is Carly Fiorina, and I’m proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate.

Carly is the Commonsense Conservative that California needs and our country could sure use in these trying times. Most importantly, she’s running for the right reasons. She has an understanding that is sorely lacking in D.C. She’s not a career politician. She’s a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize job creation. Her fiscal conservatism is rooted in real life experience. She knows that when government grows, the private sector shrinks under the burden of debt and deficits. We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America’s economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career.

Please consider that Carly is the conservative who has the potential to beat California’s liberal senator, Barbara Boxer, in November. I’m a huge proponent of contested primaries, so I’m glad to see the contest in California’s GOP, but I support Carly as she fights through a tough primary against a liberal member of the GOP who seems to bear almost no difference to Boxer, one of the most leftwing members of the Senate. Carly needs our support in this crucial election year when we have a real chance of putting an end to the Pelosi/Reid “Big Government” agenda.

I hope you’ll join me in supporting Carly. Visit her website here, and follow her on Facebook and Twitter. Read up on her positions and plans to help get us on the right track.

California is still Reagan Country, and Carly promises her “Reagan Conservative” values will be put to good use for her state and for our great nation. Shaking it up in California is long overdue. Let’s help Carly do it!

You come off defensive and abrasive from the very beginning.

Falcon28:
Here are some facts for ya:

Rasmussen (April 12)

Carly Fiorina (R) 38%
Barbara Boxer (D) 42%

***

Chuck DeVore (R) 39%
Barbara Boxer (D) 42%

Bears repeating. Thanks Falcon.

Let's have a REAL CHOICE in November, not reheated Dimocrap Lite!

"Wow, Carly Fiorina is a mess. I can just see her joining up with all the other women in the Senate. They are all big government no matter what party they claim."

I agree. In which case, what's the point? Just to exchange Babs with a (D) for Carly with an (R) next to her name? Thanks, but no thanks.

Chuck Devore seems like a good guy, but Campbell is the one who really has the best shot at beating Boxer.

I am voting for Campbell.

Arrrrrg!! It’s folks like you that make it possible for Dimocraps in GOP clothing to win over qualified conservative candidates. Shame on you.

Campbell campaign statement on Sarah Palin endorsing Carly Fiorina

Sarah Palin’s endorsement of Fiorina now settles the IOU from the 2008 election cycle. California voters are not buying that a failed CEO can be an effective U.S. Senator. Voters are looking for a Republican with a balance of experience, a real record fighting wasteful federal spending and the ability to defeat Barbara Boxer — and poll after poll says that Republican is Tom Campbell.

I don't like Fiorina’s hair style, she looks like Peter Pan.

Isn't she coming off hair loss from chemo?

Yep, when someone denigrates my state out of ignorance, I’m going to be up front with my opinion about it.

“Yep, when someone denigrates my state out of ignorance”

Ignorance? Nancy Pelosi, Diane Feinstein, Barbara Boxer and Arnold f’ing Schwarzennegar(sp?)

Combined with the ilk that makes up your state reps and frankly I do not see how one could possibly come to a different conclusion than I have. I have read your excuses and frankly I reject them. Your state is blue because the majority of the voters in your state are blue.

Same with mine, same with Wisconsin, New York etc. etc.

“please narrow down your list to those that have endorsed two RINOs in the primaries.”

I’ll add one more criteria - those who’ve endorsed two RINOs in the primaries since the Tea Party movement (post MAObama election.) Remaining from your list:

**Newt endorsed Scozzafava
**Fred Thompson endorsed McCain for Senate 2010
**Sarah Palin endorsed McCain for Senate 2010 and Fiorina for Senate 2010.

I don’t think too many of us are worrying about Newt and Fred Thompson, the way we’re concerned about Palin’s endorsements - as she is a current power in the Conservative movement and those other two are not really that.

Whether one endorsed a RINO in a primary since the Tea Party movement or before the Tea party movement, doesn't make a difference to me.

Both cases would be wrong.

For example DeMint endorsed both Mitt and Goober Graham in their primaries. Both were bad endorsements.

Reject anything you like. If you’re too stupid to listen to someone who has on the ground experience in-state, then you’ve just disqualified yourself as a person who really wants to gain an understanding of what takes place here and why.

You are still in denial that the Republican Party has essentially written off California. Until 2001, California had a Republican Governor. Wilson wasn’t an on-fire Conservative, but at least he was decent fiscally.

He is also the reason why we have Schwarzenegger today. All the stops were pulled out to put that RINO in office. And those stops were pulled out by TOP REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP in California, Wilson primary among them. And now they’re pushing for Meg Whitman.

No such effort has been lofted for other candidates who were solid Conservatives. So when you trash the citizens of California for not electing Conservatives, just be aware that you have to ignore why that is true to display this level of ignorance.

Californians who are presented with a clear explanation will vote the right way. In 2008, they denied legalization of homosexual marriage rights in California. Why did that happen, in a state that you deem to be full of liberals? You can’t have it both ways ace. Either the Citizens of California are mostly leftists, or they simply haven’t been given clear choices.

Here. Explain this.

You'll have to look those endorsements up, as I'm sure they're more local to their district/state. My point is, RINO endorsements happen. Yes, its not what conservatives need and it stinks.

But let me ask you this: are we supposed to choose whoever Tea Party affiliates pick? Didn't the Tea Party endorse Scott Brown? I know many complain of drinking the koolaid, but are we all supposed to drink the Tea Party koolaid too? I thought individual choice was still what makes conservatives principled? If McCain is so terrible (and he is), why hasn't the Tea Party endorsed Hayworth?

If you're looking for a perfect movement, the Tea Party isn't it.

Now, as for your criteria, seems to me you keep adding conditions. RINOs shouldn't be endorsed EVER. Doesn't matter whether its primary or election. Sarah was wrong for this and for McCain.
