The lone terrorist captured alive in the horrendous "26/11" Mumbai (Bombay) Pakistani-led Islamofascist mega-massacre (in which some American tourists also were gunned down)-- Ajmal Kasab, was found guilty two days ago in India. He will be sentenced in the next few hours or minutes and the atmosphere is one of extreme suspense (4 a.m. Eastern time Thursday).
Under Indian law, Kasab will get either Life without Parole, or DEATH BY HANGING.
One of the charges was "Crimes Against the Nation", in addition to seven direct murder charges, and conspiracy in the deaths of over 100 others who were in the wrong place at the wrong time in Mumbai back in 2008.
This India verdict today and the public aftermath (watch the streaming TV news) should be an interesting constrast between law toward Paki Islamo terrorists handled in India, vs. law toward terrorists handled in Obama's America, IMHO.
Link, above, to live Indian TV streaming in English.
Ping!
Thanks for the link American In Tokyo.
Either one of those options works for me...whatever India chooses is ok with me...it won’t bring the dead people back and that’s the sad part of the situation.
However, the evidence is so clear, I can not see them overturning such a sentence. But you never know. However, I have heard that India--the whole country (except perhaps Islamics in their midsts) it seems, is still HOT, FIERY MAD over this terrorist incident 1-1/2 years ago, they are not into counseling sessions and prayer circles and touchy/feely candle ceremonies and calling it a "tragedy". Most people want outright revenge. Even a little 11 year old Hindi girl who has hit by Kasab's bullets says she wants him hanged on November 26th on the anniversary of the attack to prove the point that the terrorists lost.
Last person executed in India was in 2004 for rape and murder of a girl. It seems about 50 are on "death row" at present.
Death penalty announced for 4 counts!
hang the SOB
Good. He’s not worth the expense of feeding and housing.
This thread I (and some others) have been updating is now at 101, 682 hits.

The evidence is clear.
People around the world will not forget the Mumbai Massacre, the Beslan School Massacre, and September 11, 2001.
Kasab is additionally a live human reminder to the world, and a constant source of embarrassment for Pakistan.
I can see how the government might be tempted to keep him alive, just because of the above.
I don’t want revenge and I would say that even if I was in India; I want justice.
4:35 a.m. Eastern Time.
They are commenting about how judge mention that Kasab shot any number of women and children, shot police and balance was totally in favor of prosecution. Number of people killed. Penalty is in proportion to crime. Leniency will do harm. That is the only option of the court.
"This man has lost the right of getting humanitarian benefit", is what the judge told him.
CAPITAL PUNISHMMENT based on four crimes:
Waging War Against the Nation
Murder
Conspiracy for Murder
Terrorist Acts

Judge M L Tahaliyani has awarded the death sentence to Pakistani terrorist, Ajmal Amir Kasab. The judge felt Kasabs crime fell under the judicial definition of rarest of rare and death by hanging was well deserved.
Kasab was given the death penalty on four counts. The court said there was no chance of Kasab reforming.
Automatically it will be hard to convert to Life Sentence in Bombay High Cour by his attorney, that is why the Bombay Criminal Court today made the sentence so air tight and strict, and multiple.
No leniency at all.
It seems he broke down, despite being passive and non reactive. Today he entered court, unshaven, sat in his chair, and then he was alone in the dock. As the judge read the counts and why death sentence should be given, no reaction. Then after the judges statement, then Kasab was allowed to speak and explain himself. At that time, just nodded his head.
Absolute chaos outside the court. on Live TV.
Yep.
They are doing this right.
Legal/Western/Transparent but NO NONSENSE and giving him NO LENIENCY.
I guess Paki Islamo terrorists will have to stick to attacking the USA and keep away from India for the time being, in case they run the risk of being caught and going through court systems.
I can only imagine the ACLU working with the Faisal character in NYC as we speak, trying to spring him on a technicality so he can go out and murder people on a second try.
Spring him. He may not make it long enough to make a 2nd try.
I’m sure La Cosa Nostra doesn’t appreciate him trying to blow up places where their wives & kids shop.
I’m for the death penalty.
Yeah, Cindy, but we Americans seem to forget them ALL.
>embarrassment for Pakistan.
Impossible. Too much chutzpah and a Machiavellian mindset means the JihadiMilitary Complex of Islamabad see this as a weakness of India.
An explicit PakArmyJihadi attack that killed scores. And India’s response.......
India hasn’t done squat.
The Generals laugh, and ponder how much further can they press Pakistan’s advantage with Washington.
Well, let’s not include me, you, or most people I know, and a good majority of freepers; we haven’t forgotten.
