Faisal is a naturalized American citizen who is originally from Pakistan. He recently returned from Pakistan after spending five months there. While the exact movements of Faisal are not yet known, US intelligence officials contacted by The Long War Journal believe he spent time in al Qaeda or Taliban training camps in North Waziristan.
“North Waziristan is the heart of al Qaeda’s external operations network,” an intelligence official said. Previous al Qaeda plots, such as the attempted suicide attacks in New York’s subway system in September 2009 by Najibullah Zazi and his accomplices, were hatched in North Waziristan. Zazi, an Afghan citizen, traveled to North Waziristan for more than three-and-a-half months of training.

Officials tracked Faisal down based on information gathered from the upload of the videotape of Qari Hussain Mehsud, the Pakistani Taliban master trainer of suicide bombers, according to ABC News. On the video, Qari Hussain lauded the bombing, which he characterized as successful, and said further attacks against the US would follow.
The YouTube website that hosted the video was created by a group calling itself the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan News Channel. The website was created one day before the failed attack, and the video was also uploaded one day before the attack, The Long War Journal first reported on May 2.
US intelligence officials contacted by The Long War Journal on May 2 believed the YouTube site was created specifically to announce the Times Square attack. Officials also said Qari Hussain’s statement was pre-recorded well before the failed Times Square attack.
The Pakistani Taliban followed up Qari Hussain’s statement by releasing two tapes of Hakeemullah Mehsud, the leader of the Movement of the Taliban in Pakistan who was reported killed in a US airstrike in North Waziristan in January 2010. The tapes were also uploaded onto YouTube by the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan News Channel. The audio and video tapes, which were recorded in early and mid-April, are the first proof since Jan. 16 that Hakeemullah is alive. On the tapes, Hakeemullah also threatened to carry out attacks against the US and said the strikes would happen soon.

Apparently someone called in to the NYPD early in the morning Monday to say that this was just a “diversion” and the “big one” is coming soon? I think you’re probably right as far as those suitcase nukes (we’ve been hearing about them having those for over a decade now, or close to it...). I definitely don’t think this was a “dry-run” though — just someone who was incompetent (thank God!). They will probably go with the more devoted suicide bombers as indicated in that letter on this thread. Much less room for error — way more dangerous for us...

Because that was part of the DNC script. This thing was supposed to go off, with this guy in the car. The plan was to blame the "right-wing" tea party people, in order to sway public opinion. The poorly-made bomb failed, the suspect was spotted fleeing, and the plan was aborted. But the state-run news media didn't get their new marching orders in time, so they continued to blather on about those "tea party people".

And, herein lies the problem. It’s the wrong guy. His name is NOT Shahzad Faisal — it is Faisal Shahzad.
People are running with this ONE FB account (which has nothing available to even FB members, besides a friends list and his sex - no location) and also then failing to realize just how many people on Facebook have the real name of the arrested man — 800 people!!!
The name thing — that’s on the media. The FB thing — well, I hope no-one gets sued for slander...
I’m guessing this is the CORRECT picture for the alleged terrorist? Can you tell me the source of this photo? I’m just trying to get my facts straight here, and there has been so much mis-information it’s astounding, really... [The mistake on this guy’s name by the MSM is really annoying, but probably moreso for the other guy who’s FB Profile pic is now floating around the internet as “the terrorist”]

He’s a Naturalized US Citizen (of Pakistani descent). Not technically a “Pakistani” anymore.
The GOP invented the term "Religion of Peace". The GOP changed the name of "Operation Infinite Justice" because only Allah is capable of infinite justice. The GOP failed, and then failed again, to channel the righteous anger of the People by allowing the punitive action in Iraq to degenerate into a foolish hearts and minds crusade.
The GOP fears the right more than they fear the communists. As Obama and Holder coddle these terrorists, they may mock a little, they may give the People a wink and a nod - but they would do no different if they were in power, and you know that's true.
You would think the word had been scrubbed from the dictionary. Apparently, there’s no such thing anymore.
They should be saying “of Pakistani origin,” meaning that he was orginally from Pakistan, although he’s now a US citizen.
This is just the type of fine, upstanding Muslim citizen Obama wants more of, btw; one of the objectives of any “overhaul” of immigration under Bambi is the legal admission of more Africans, Middle Easterners and Southeast Asians from Muslim countries. He said this openly a couple of years ago.
