SNIPPET: "A Jewish French citizen was seriously hurt Friday after being assaulted with an iron rod and a knife in the center of Strasbourg.

The DPA news agency reported that the man, 42, was attacked by two men wearing djellabas, robes traditionally worn in North Africa.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Jew, who was wearing a traditional skullcap, was hit in the back with the iron rod by one of the men, while the other stabbed him in the chest. The two assailants were arrested, and one of them was said to be mentally ill."

A major problem with antisemitism in France is that the large majority of incidents now are perpetrated by Muslims (most of them or their families coming in from former French colonies in Africa - e.g., Algeria; Morocco, and Tunisia) while the French government - knowing that Muslims are more politically powerful than Jews because they outnumber Jews by 10 to 1 in the country - tends to go soft on the Muslim perps.

At least the two jerks in this case were arrested. It may be too much to hope for that they get just punishment. Already one is being described as "mentally ill" which could be a hint that he'll be given a slap on the wrist.

The "blood in the streets" scenario is looming like the elephant in the living room.

We were in eastern France recently, in the Battle of the Bulge area. Belgium too. We saw a number of women in long, black robes. Not fully veiled, but obviously Muslim. They were chaotic, too — kids screaming and fighting in the streets, etc. We were in small, rural towns there.

I think France has a serious problem; maybe they will have the next minaret ban.
