NASA scientists last night unveiled compelling evidence of life on Mars.
A special mission to the Red Planet has revealed the likely presence of a form of pond scum - the building blocks of life as we know it.

They look a little like glacial crevices covered by wind swept sand material or maybe canyon sides collapsing into an unseen valley or cavern below.

I thought the mysterious black things in that photo had long since been determined to be rock slides on the sides of the steep slopes.Yes, that picture and its caption are totally unrelated to the article. Someone at the paper just stuck it in there because it looked cool.
