Looks like it.
Now that Teddy is dead and Patches is getting cut off by bartenders, there is no Kennedy to stand in the way.
heh-heh.
I will never get used to those monstrosities - nor should we. Greens are ruining a once great (and wild) country.
Not from down there.
I only wish that he could come back and see what is being planned for his beloved "Cape Cod".
This is industry putting these in, not the greens. The greens are supporting roof top solar, not concentrated generation and miles of transmission lines.
An important component of roof top solar is the passage of Feed In Tariffs (FIT) that will pay homeowners and other roof top generators for the energy they supply to the grid. That will at once spur conservation - the less energy you use at your home, the more you get paid. Profit motive enters the conservation equation. FIT benefits little people, not big business and not politicians looking for campaign contributions so it is an uphill battle.
Roof top solar spurred by FIT will also end the need for solar farms. Those solar farms are big water consumers - in the desert. The transmission lines are not necessary if you don't have concentrated solar farms.
At least the battle has been won to put those solar farms along existing power line corridors instead of opening up new ones. That is a big win.
The biggest benefit of alternative energy is helping to reduce foreign oil consumption. Even if you disagree with the green movement, that should at least be viewed as an attractive benefit to you.
Green lobbyists are pressuring the government to subsidize wind power. That’s the only reason “industry” is putting up wind generators.
I have no problem with roof top solar, as long as I don’t have to subsidize it.
I don’t favor any power source that industrializes vast open spaces.
Wind power and other alternative energy sources have virtually no impact on foreign oil imports, which mainly fuel the transportation sector.
Unfortunately, 0bama beat us to the punch, playing the dead Kennedy card to get his horrendous health care "reform" passed through Congress.
